Update — Wednesday, November 2, 11:32 p.m.: Construction has ended at Jane Station and passengers are using the new PRESTO-enabled fare gates.

The TTC continues to install new PRESTO fare gates at more stations.

Runnymede and Jane stations are next.

TTC crews are removing turnstiles and high gates and replacing them with new, PRESTO-enabled fare gates. The new gates provide easier access and improve the flow of passengers into and out of stations.

After the new fare gates are active, you can still use tickets, tokens and Metropasses to pay your fare when you enter the station — but only at the collector booth.

The TTC is assigning ambassadors to the stations to help you figure out how to get around during construction. It will also install way-finding signs.

  • Runnymede Station: Construction starts Wednesday, July 13. It continues until September 16.
  • Jane Station: Construction starts Friday, July 15. It continues until September 30.

Jane Station

Crews work in two phases to reduce the impact on passengers.

Phase one starts Friday, July 15. The collector booth will be open to sell tickets, tokens and passes, but you can’t enter the station through the collector-booth aisle. During this phase of construction, you can only access the station through through the north fare line.

Construction on phase 1 continues until “mid-August” or until August 19.

Phase two starts “mid-August” or Monday, August 22.

You can access the station through the new fare line or through the temporary collector aisle.

Construction on phase 2 continues until “late September” or **until September 30.

Runnymede Station

Crews work in two phases to reduce the impact on passengers.

Phase one starts Wednesday, July 13. Crews are installing construction hoarding and removing the turnstiles at the main entrance. During construction you can access the station through the collector-booth aisle.

Construction on phase 1 continues until “mid-August” or until August 19.

Phase two starts “mid-August” or Monday, August 22.

You can buy fare media but can’t use debit or credit cards at this booth. You can access the station through the collector-booth aisle or through the new fare line with a PRESTO card or TTC Metropass.

During this phase, crews will replace turnstiles with new, PRESTO-enabled fare gates. The new gates will provide easier access and offer greater flexibility for flow of traffic into and out of stations.

You may also pay with cash, tickets, tokens and Metropasses; however, you must enter through the collector-booth aisle at the main entrance to do so.

Construction on phase 2 continues until “mid-September” or **until September 16.
