Original Yonge 12 Eglinton 201609-2

This photograph, taken in September 2016, looks east along Eglinton Avenue and shows lane restrictions interfering with mid-afternoon traffic. The construction in the left foreground is for a new condo building and is nothing to do with the TTC, except that a subway-station entrance previously built into the former building on that corner is to be rerouted into the building. But the construction within Eglinton, a block away, is part of the Crosstown transit line; specifically, it's for the shaft where the tunnel-boring machines will be removed. That hole in the road will be there for quite a while yet. The fenced-off construction zone to the right, next to the bus, is for an emergency exit from the station on the Crosstown line. This photograph is in the public domain.
