Proposals to serve the Warren Park area first materialized in the mid-to-late 70s. Initially, it was proposed that a bus run up Humbercrest Boulevard into the Warren Park area, but the condition of Humbercrest Boulevard made this impossible. Another proposal called for a bus run north on Jane Street and west on St. Mark's Road into Warren Park.

May 25, 1987

New seasonal rush-hour-only route, running from Jane Station via north on Jane Street and west on Dundas Street, looping clockwise through Warren Park via southeast on Gooch Avenue, southwest on Van Stassen Boulevard, northwest on Varsity, southwest on Crosby Avenue, northwest on Warren Crescent and Lundy Avenue, northeast on Old Dundas Street and east on Dundas. Service provided every 30:00 minutes.

Last day of operation for the year. The condition of Old Dundas prevented running service on this route year round. As service was removed for another winter, proposals reemerged to run a bus from Jane station via Jane and St. Marks Drive. However, it was felt that the grade on St. Marks was unsuitable for buses. Reconstruction of Old Dundas next year allowed year-round service to be established.

Year-round service now provided. Buses run over the same route as before throughout the year.

Due to disruptions anticipated from the reconstruction of the bus roadway at Jane Station, service on 55 WARREN PARK is extended from Bloor and Jane to Old Mill station. Buses operate over the normal route to Bloor and Jane and then travel west on Bloor and north on Old Mill Trail to Old Mill station, returning via Old Mill Trail and Bloor to Jane. Buses will serve two temporary stops, a southbound one between Old Mill Drive and Jane, and a northbound stop on Jane Street in front of the main entrance to Jane station. This change was originally supposed to take place on Sunday, March 31, 2019, but delays to the roadway construction led the TTC to delay this change to the start of the next board period. This temporary extension is expected to last for seven months.
