Metrolinx and York Region contractors continue the project to build a rapidway — bus-only lanes in the centre of the roadway — along Yonge Street in Richmond Hill between 19th Avenue / Gamble Road and Highway 7.

This week, crews are installing new curb and storm-sewer infrastructure

  • on Yonge Street between May Avenue and Major Mackenzie Drive.

To accommodate these activities, the crews are setting up work zones that temporarily block side streets and traffic lanes.

From 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, work zones restrict traffic on Yonge Street to just one lane in each direction through the intersection with Major Mackenzie Drive, as crews install storm-sewer infrastructure.

“Paid-duty” York Regional Police officers and traffic-control staff will be on-site to direct traffic during this work.
