Metrolinx contractors continue building the future Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line between Mount Dennis and Kennedy.

As part of the ongoing project to relocate the GO Transit tracks in the rail corridor, near the site of the future Mount Dennis LRT station, Metrolinx has scheduled three weekends of overnight work:

  • From 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 14 until Sunday, June 16;
  • From 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 28 until Sunday, June 30; and
  • From 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 5 until Sunday, July 7.

During these weekends, crews are:

  • grading the ground;
  • relocating the track panels;
  • sawing and drilling rail;
  • resurfacing;
  • placing and leveling the “ballast” (the gravel or stones under the tracks); and
  • welding.

At times, crews use a mechanical roller to compact the ground, causing vibrations.

Nearby residents and businesses can expect truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone, and travelling along local streets.
