Gore Road / Queen East construction affects Brampton Transit service, starting April 9



Update — Saturday, April 20, 7:48 a.m.: The Region is expanding the construction zone. Starting Monday, April 22, Brampton Transit is detouring buses along the 31 McVean route and further relocating bus stops in the area.


The Region of Peel is continuing its earlier project to widen The Gore Road by improving the intersection of

  • The Gore Road with Queen Street East.

Starting Tuesday, April 9, contractor crews are setting up work zones that restrict access to bus stops on The Gore Road. Brampton Transit is temporarily relocating the stops, affecting service along these routes:

  • 31 McVean; and
  • 50 Gore Road.

50 Gore Road

Starting Tuesday, April 9, a work zone blocks southbound stop #2572 on The Gore Road north of Queen Street East. Instead, buses drop off or pick up passengers at a stop on Gore south of Queen East.

Another work zone blocks southbound stop #3765 on The Gore Road, well south of Queen East. Instead, buses drop off or pick up passengers at a stop on Gore at Kelways Court.

31 McVean

Starting Tuesday, April 9, a work zone blocks southbound stop #2572 on The Gore Road north of Queen Street East.

(Updated — Saturday, April 20, 7:48 a.m.) Starting Monday, April 22, southbound buses operate along The Gore Road to Frogal Road, then detour:

eastward along Frogal;
southward along Highway 50; and then
westward along Queen Street East to The Gore Road,
ending their trips.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on The Gore Road across from Frogal Road and at Queen Street East and
  • on Queen Street East west of The Gore Road.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Highway 50 south of Frogal Road and
  • on Queen Street East east of Highway 50 and at The Gore Road.

Northbound buses start their trips on Queen Street East at The Gore Road, then proceed:

along their regular route westward along Queen East.

Northbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Queen Street East west of The Gore Road.

Instead, northbound buses pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Queen Street East east of The Gore Road.
