Metrolinx and York Region contractors continue building a rapidway — bus-only lanes in the centre of the roadway — along Highway 7 West between Helen Street / Wigwoss Drive and Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.
From 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday, February 11 and continuing daily, crews are setting up temporary work zones that block traffic lanes
- on Highway 7 West between Bruce Street and Wigwoss Drive / Helen Street,
as they continue installing water mains.
Work zones may temporarily restrict either east- or westbound traffic.
“Paid-duty” York Regional Police officers will be on site to control traffic as crews reconfigure traffic lanes.
All driveways remain accessible within the work zone. However, construction activities may temporarily restrict or block driveways.
Expect noise before working hours, as crews assemble and arrange equipment.
Brampton Transit passengers aboard buses along this route can expect delays:
- 501 Züm Queen.
York Region Transit may temporarily relocate bus stops near the work zones. Passengers aboard buses along these routes can also expect delays:
- Viva orange; and
- 77 Highway 7.
Water-main installation between Bruce and Helen / Wigwoss — and the resulting BT and YRT delays — continue until 3:30 p.m. March 1.
