Update — Friday, February 15, 5:54 a.m.: The City is restoring the roadway after the sewer-repair project and the HSR is again detouring the buses from February 19 until 22.


Update — Wednesday, February 14, 3:54 p.m.: The HSR is further detouring the buses due to another construction project from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Thursday, February 14.


Update — Tuesday, February 12, 6:39 p.m.: Sewer-lining work on Locke South continues until 7 p.m. February 14. The HSR revises the detour: inbound buses resume their regular route; outbound buses continue to detour.


Update — Thursday, February 7, 4:26 p.m.: Sewer-lining work on Locke South and the HSR detour continue until 7 p.m. February 12.


Starting 7 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, the City of Hamilton is closing:

  • Locke Street South between Pine and Bold Streets,

as crews repair the sewer lining.

The Hamilton Street Railway is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 7 Locke.

northward along Dundurn South; and then
eastward along Main Street West to Locke Street South,
resuming their regular route eastward along Main West.

Inbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Chatham Street beside #47 Chatham and at Locke Street South and
  • on Locke Street South north of Hunter Street West and at Main Street West.

Instead, inbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Main Street West at Poulette Street.

(Updated — Tuesday, February 12, 6:39 p.m.) From 7 a.m. Wednesday, January 30 until 7 p.m. Friday, February 14, outbound buses operate along their regular route to Hunter Street West and Queen Street South, then detour:

southward along Queen South; and then
westward along Charlton Avenue West to Locke Street South,
resuming their regular route westward along Charlton.

Outbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Hunter Street West at Pearl and Locke Streets South and
  • on Locke Street South at Melbourne Street and Charlton Avenue West.

Instead, outbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Queen Street South south of Duke Street and at Charlton Avenue West.

Inbound buses operate toward downtown.

Outbound buses operate away from downtown.
