Eglinton Crosstown LRT - Mount Pleasant:
Storm-sewer work at Brownlow, January 30

Eglinton Crosstown header.jpg

Metrolinx contractors continue building the future Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line between Mount Dennis and Kennedy.

Starting Wednesday, January 30, crews return to

  • the intersection of Brownlow Avenue with Eglinton Avenue East

to connect the new storm-sewer system they installed last year. They’ll remove concrete so they can access the utility access portal (“manhole”) below ground. From the portal, they’ll chip and reform the concrete to connect the new storm-sewer infrastructure near the site of the future Mount Pleasant Station.

The crews are extending the southwest work zone westward into Brownlow Avenue, while they work. A temporary walkway slightly south of the regular pedestrian route leads pedestrians safely around the work zone at Browlow. Concrete trucks access the work zone from Brownlow. Traffic-control personnel will guide pedestrians and motorists, as trucks enter and exit the work zone.

Crews work 24 hours a day.
