Metrolinx contractors continue building the future Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line between Mount Dennis and Kennedy.


From 10 p.m. Thursday, January 10 until 5 a.m. Friday, January 11 and from 10 p.m. Sunday, January 13 until 5 a.m. Monday, January 14 and continuing overnight nightly, crews are repairing a catch basin

  • on Eglinton Avenue East east of Kennedy Road.

The work zone is near the site of the future Kennedy LRT Station.

Crews are expanding the work zone to occupy one more eastbound traffic lane on the south side of Eglinton East east of Kennedy.

Catch-basin repairs near the future Kennedy LRT station and the resulting TTC delays continue until 5 a.m. **January 15.

For transit passengers:

  • Passengers aboard TTC buses along these routes can continue to expect delays:

  • 34 Eglinton East;

  • 43 Kennedy;
  • 113 Danforth;
  • 334 Eglinton East;
  • 343 Kennedy.

For pedestrians:

  • The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton East east of Kennedy remains closed. A temporary walkway on the south side leads only to and from the TTC / GO Transit Kennedy Station.
  • Use the north sidewalk to walk along Eglinton East east of Kennedy.

For motorists:

  • Work zones block traffic lanes on the south side of Eglinton East east and west of Kennedy.
  • Just one lane is available for eastbound traffic on Eglinton, immediately east of Kennedy. Two lanes are available for eastbound traffic west of the north service road.
  • Two lanes are available for westbound traffic on Eglinton east and west of Kennedy.
  • Two lanes are available for eastbound traffic on Eglinton east of Kennedy.
  • All traffic lanes are available for north- and southbound traffic on Kennedy.
  • The City of Toronto is prohibiting left turns for eastbound traffic to southbound Kennedy.
  • A single-lane service road on the south side of Eglinton west of Kennedy allows access to businesses.
  • A single-lane service road on the south side of Eglinton east of Kennedy allows access to Kennedy TTC Station.
  • The City has installed temporary signals on Eglinton East at the Kennedy Station service road.
