Eglinton Crosstown LRT - Leaside:
Traffic changes, January 7 and 8

Eglinton Crosstown header.jpg

Metrolinx contractors continue building the future Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line between Mount Dennis and Kennedy.

Monday, January 7 and Tuesday, January 8, crews revise the traffic lanes

  • at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue East with Bayview Avenue

to accommodate the next stage of shoring in the roadway for the future Leaside Station.

Meanwhile, crews are shoring the excavation and installing decking on the roadway every day from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. Occasionally, they may work overnight to keep the project on schedule. For safety purposes, they are erecting fences around the work zones.

This phase of the project continues “until early 2019”, or until February 28. Then, crews shift from piling, decking and shallowly excavating to deeply excavating under the decking at the intersection.
