Less parking at Whitby GO Station,
starting June 18



The Ontario Ministry of Transportation is closing 250 spaces in the northeast Whitby GO Station parking lot during a project to replace the Brock Street South bridge across Highway 401.

Construction starts Monday, June 18 and continues until 2020.

GO Transit suggests that, to access the station during construction, you can:

  • Board Durham Region Transit buses and take advantage of DRT’s 80-cent cash fare to GO. Seven DRT routes connect you to Whitby GO Station:
  • 301 West Lynde;
  • 302 Baldwin / Brock;
  • 303 Garden;
  • 304 Anderson;
  • 305 Thickson;
  • 308 Whitby Shores; and
  • 910 Campus Connect.
  • Board GO buses along the 81 Port Perry / Whitby route with regular DRT fares.
  • Get dropped off, walk or bike to the station and park in one of the two covered bike shelters on the north side
  • carpool with a neighbour to use one of 35 designated spots. Get matched using explore.smartcommute.ca.
  • park in the overflow lot at Iroquois Park Community Centre or at Ajax GO Station. Just remember to change the default setting on your PRESTO card, if you decide to park at Ajax GO.
