Yonge Street rapidway - Richmond Hill:
Storm-sewer installation near High Tech

Metrolinx and York Region contractors continue the project to build a rapidway — bus-only lanes in the centre of the roadway — along Yonge Street in Richmond Hill between 19th Avenue / Gamble Road and Highway 7.

Starting Monday, April 16 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. and continuing daily, crews are installing a storm sewer on

  • Yonge Street, east side, between High Tech Road and the Yonge / Highway 7 connector road.

The work zone restricts northbound traffic on Yonge Street to just one lane from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. every day. It also blocks the right-turn lane from Yonge onto High Tech.

Due to the nature of this work, expect construction-related noise and dust from equipment and trucks.

GO Transit may temporarily relocate its stops. Passengers can also expect delays along this route:

  • 61 Richmond Hill / Toronto.

York Region Transit may also temporarily relocate stops. Passengers can also expect delays along these routes:

  • Viva blue;
  • Viva blue “A”;
  • 1 Highway 7;
  • 98E Yonge express;
  • 98 / 99 Yonge late-night; and
  • 99 Yonge.

Storm-sewer installation on Yonge Street between the connector road and High Tech Road and the resulting GO and YRT delays continue “for approximately three weeks” or until May 6.
