Update, Thursday, April 19, 8:31 a.m. — The City is again closing the street for hydro work and the TTC is again detouring the buses from 9 p.m. Friday, April 20 until 5 p.m. Sunday, April 22.

From 7 a.m. Saturday, April 14 until 5 p.m. Sunday, April 15, the City of Toronto is closing:

  • Mount Pleasant Road between Roehampton Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East

to accommodate Toronto Hydro crews who are relocating hydroelectric utilities in both the south- and northbound lanes.

Crews will break out the hydro duct-bank infrastructure and place hydro cables into new infrastructure.

Eglinton Avenue East remains open, although other work on the light-rail project restricts traffic to just two lanes from east of Taunton Road to Brownlow Avenue.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 74 Mt Pleasant.

From 7 a.m. Saturday, April 14 until 5 p.m. Sunday, April 15, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Mount Pleasant Road and Roehampton Avenue, then detour:

westward along Roehampton;
southward along Redpath Avenue; and then
eastward along Soudan Avenue to Mount Pleasant,
resuming their regular route southward along Mount Pleasant.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Mount Pleasant Road at Roehampton and Soudan Avenues.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Redpath Avenue at Eglinton Avenue East.

Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Mount Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue East, then detour:

westward along Eglinton East;
northward along Redpath Avenue; and then
eastward along Broadway Avenue to Mount Pleasant,
resuming their regular route northward along Mount Pleasant.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Mount Pleasant Road north of Eglinton Avenue East and at Broadway Avenue.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Eglinton Avenue East at Redpath Avenue and
  • on Redpath Avenue north of Eglinton Avenue East and at Roehampton and Broadway Avenues.
