TTC revises services, January 7



The TTC makes minor changes to its services, starting Sunday, January 7.

Increasing service along routes


404 East York community bus

Starting Monday, January 8, buses operate from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, offering passengers an extra hour of service evenings.

The TTC is also adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route.

400 Lawrence Manor community bus

Starting Monday, January 8, buses operate from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, offering passengers an extra hour of service mornings.

The TTC is also adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route.


Decreasing service along routes


49 Bloor West

Friday, January 5 was the last day that the TTC operated the westbound bus that usually left Kipling Station at 8:57 a.m.

The TTC is also increasing the frequency of service along the route.

75 Sherbourne

The TTC is decreasing service in Rosedale at various times of the week by starting and ending trips on Sherbourne Street south of Bloor Street East.

Starting Sunday, January 7, the first southbound buses Saturdays, Sundays and holidays start their trips on Sherbourne south of Bloor East, instead of on South Drive east of Glen Road.

Starting Monday, January 8, eight southbound buses start their trips on Sherbourne south of Bloor East Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours. Six northbound buses end their trip on Sherbourne south of Bloor during afternoon rush hours and evenings.

The TTC has cancelled the southbound bus that usually leaves South Drive at 5:30 a.m.

Increasing the frequency of service along routes


49 Bloor West

The TTC is providing afternoon rush-hour service later Monday-to-Friday evenings.

Starting Monday, January 8, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route

  • every 10 minutes, instead of every 15 minutes, from about 6 until 7:15 p.m.

The TTC is also decreasing service along the route.

42 Cummer

With the end of Ontario Ministry of Transportation construction on the overpass carrying McNicoll Avenue across Highway 404, the TTC adjusts the schedules to resume regular service along the route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

By adjusting the schedules, it both increases and decreases the frequency of weekend service.

Starting Sunday, January 7, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the entire route:

  • every 24 minutes, instead of every 26 minutes, Sundays and holidays before about 8 a.m.;
  • every 16 minutes, instead of every 17 minutes, from about 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.; and
  • every 24 minutes, instead of every 26 minutes, after about 10 p.m.

Starting Saturday, January 13, buses serve passengers at the stops:

  • every 13 minutes, instead of every 14 minutes, Saturdays from about noon until 7 p.m.; and
  • every 16 minutes, instead of every 17 minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m.
14 Glencairn

The TTC is revising the schedules to accommodate Metrolinx construction of the future Chaplin Station on the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line.

By adjusting the schedules, the TTC both increases and decreases the frequency of service along the route at various times Mondays to Fridays

Starting Monday, January 8, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 16 minutes, instead of every 18 minutes, during morning rush hours; and
  • every 16 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, during afternoon rush hours.

42 Cummer

14 Glencairn

The TTC is revising the schedules to accommodate Metrolinx construction of the future Chaplin Station on the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line.

By adjusting the schedules, the TTC both increases and decreases the frequency of service along the route at various times Mondays to Fridays

Starting Monday, January 8, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 27 minutes, instead of every 24 minutes, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.; and
  • every 24 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, after about 7 p.m.
80 Queensway

The TTC is decreasing the frequency of service along the route, it says, “to maintain the reliability of the service”.

Starting Monday, January 8, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 24 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

By decreasing the frequency of service during this time period, the TTC maintains 30-minute service levels along the route Mondays to Fridays at all times, except overnight.

Adjusting the schedules for buses operating along routes


300 Bloor - Danforth overnight

Starting Monday, January 8, the eastbound bus that usually leaves the arrivals level of Toronto Pearson International Airports Terminal 3 at 3:53 a.m. leaves, instead, seven minutes later at 4 a.m. The bus drops off or picks up passengers at stops along the route as much as seven minutes later than usually. It ends its trip on Danforth Avenue east of Leyton Avenue at 5:14 a.m.

By operating the bus on a later trip, the TTC improves service to airport workers by co-ordinating the schedule for this trip with shift-change times at Pearson.

404 East York community bus

Starting Monday, January 8, the TTC adjusts the schedule for buses operating along the route.

It’s also increasing the hours of service along the route.

405 Etobicoke community bus

Starting Monday, January 8, the TTC adjusts the schedule for buses operating along the route.

400 Lawrence Manor community bus

Starting Monday, January 8, the TTC adjusts the schedule for buses operating along the route.

It’s also increasing the hours of service along the route.

402 Parkdale community bus

Starting Monday, January 8, the TTC adjusts the schedule for buses operating along the route.

403 South Don Mills community bus

Starting Monday, January 8, the TTC adjusts the schedule for buses operating along the route.

Making another change to service along a route


33 Forest Hill

The TTC continues to detour buses around the intersection of Eglinton Avenue West and Bathurst Street to avoid delaying buses during Metrolinx construction of the future Forest Hill Station on the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line.

Starting Sunday, January 7, the TTC designates the intersection of Mayfair Avenue and Vesta Drive as the northern end of the line for buses operating along the route. (Previously, buses ended their trips on Roselawn Avenue east of Bathurst Street.)
