The City of Toronto is closing:

  • the intersection of Bay Street with Harbour Street

from 9 p.m. Friday, October 6 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, October 10.

By closing the intersection, the City is facilitating the next phase of the ongoing [project]http://bit.ly/2xZnoXb) to build a new ramp from the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway to Lower Simcoe Street and to widen Harbour Street from three to to four lanes.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along these routes, while the intersection is closed:

  • 6 Bay; and
  • 320 Yonge overnight.

Construction may also detour or delay GO Transit buses operating along the 16 Hamilton / Toronto express, 18 Lakeshore West, 21 Milton / Toronto, 31 Guelph / Toronto, 61 Richmond Hill / Toronto, 63 King City / Toronto, 65 Newmarket / Toronto, 71 Stouffville / Toronto and 90 Lakeshore East routes.


6 Bay

From 9 p.m. Friday, October 6 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, October 10, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Bay Street and Front Street West, then detour:

eastward along Front West; and then
southward along Yonge Street to Queens Quay,
resuming their regular route eastward along Queens Quay East.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Bay Street at Front Street West and south of Harbour Street and
  • on Queens Quay West across from Bay Street.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Front Street West east of Bay Street and
  • on Yonge Street at Queens Quay West.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Bay Street north of Queens Quay West, across from the Air Canada Centre and at Front Street West.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Yonge Street at Lake Shore Boulevard East and
  • on Front Street West west of Yonge Street and at Bay Street.
320 Yonge overnight

From Friday, October 6 until Tuesday, October 10, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Yonge and Wellington Streets, then detour:

southward along Yonge to Queens Quay,
ending their trips.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Bay Street at Front Street West and south of Harbour Street and
  • on Queens Quay West across from Bay Street and
  • on Yonge Street at Lake Shore Boulevard East.

Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Yonge Street at Front Street West and Queens Quay West.

Southbound buses start their trips on Yonge Street at Queens Quay West, then proceed:

eastward along Queens Quay East;
northward along Freeland Street;
eastward along Lake Shore Boulevard East;
southward along Cooper Street; and then
westward along Queens Quay East to Yonge,
resuming their regular route northward along Yonge.

Northbound buses serve all regular stops.
