TTC revises routes and services, February 12

A shortage of streetcars and buses continues to plague the TTC as it revises its services starting this Sunday, February 12.

A lack of streetcars results in it continuing to operate buses along the entire 511 Bathurst route. For the same reason, it’s also slighting decreasing the frequency of service along the 505 Dundas route.

In turn, it’s reorganizing several routes and reallocating their resources — meaning buses and drivers — among their various branches, in part due to a lack of buses. In this way it increasing service along parts of the routes and decreases service along other parts without adding any more buses to serve the route. This affects service along these routes:

  • 24 Victoria Park;
  • 24E Victoria Park express;
  • 72 Pape;
  • 95 York Mills;
  • 95E York Mills express;
  • 191 Highway 27 rocket; and
  • 199 Finch rocket.

The lack of buses also requires the TTC to re-assign buses that would ordinarily operate along routes with fewer riders to busier routes. This affects service along these routes:

  • 15 Evans;
  • 26 Dupont;
  • 46 Martin Grove.

The TTC is also making minor routing changes to two routes:

  • 37 Islington; and
  • 52 Lawrence West.
