MiWay revises routes and services, October 24

It’s reorganizing routes in Meadowvale, affecting service along the 9 Rathburn - Thomas, 10 Bristol - Britannia and 46 Tenth Line - Osprey routes. It’s also cancelling the 41 / 41A Thomas route.

It’s offering passengers more every-day service:

  • instead of Mondays to Fridays only during rush hours, along the 46 Tenth Line - Osprey route; and
  • instead of just Mondays to Saturdays, along the 44 Mississauga Road route.

It’s also providing new Saturday service along the 101 Dundas express route and later service Saturday, Sunday and holiday evenings along the 10 Bristol - Britannia route.

332 Mount Carmel - Lisgar GO high school special

Starting Monday, October 24, MiWay introduces a new high-school special route Monday-to-Friday school-days.

The southbound bus starts its trip in Lisgar GO Station bus terminal’s platform 7 at 7:58 a.m., then proceed:

southward along Tenth Line West;
westward along Cactus Gate;
southward along Black Walnut Trail;
westward along Terragar Boulevard;
southward along Rosehurst and Lisgar Drives;
eastward along Doug Leavens Boulevard;
north- and eastward along Trelawny Circle to across from Forest Park Drive (just east of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic High School),
ending its trip at 8:12 a.m.

The southbound bus drops off or picks up passengers at stops:

  • in Lisgar GO Station bus terminal at platform 7 (Friday, October 21 was the last day that buses operating along route 46 serve this stop; buses operating along routes 32 and 38 continue to serve this stop),

Starting Monday, October 24, MiWay introduces a new high-school special route Monday-to-Friday school-day afternoons, replacing extra trips along the former 9 Rathburn - Millers Grove route.

Northbound buses start their trips on Joymar Drive across from Tannery Street (beside Streetsville Secondary School) at 2:44 and 2:48 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days.

Sunday, October 23 is the last day that any MiWay buses drop off or pick up passengers at these northbound route 53 stops:

MiWay is removing the stop at Central East and Youngstown to improve passengers safety. It’s moving the stop northward to Rathburn Road East to improve service for passengers connecting with other MiWay buses.

16 / 16A Malton

Sunday, October 23 is the last day that MiWay buses operating in both directions drop off or pick up passengers on Goreway Drive north of Nashua Drive[south].

With this new path, buses operating along the north end of route 10 replace current service along the 9 Rathburn - Millers Grove route thorough Meadowvale. Buses operating along the revised 9 Rathburn - Thomas route replace some parts of current route 10 through the same community. And, buses operating along the revised 46 Tenth Line - Osprey route replace other parts of the route.
