GO construction in Union Station, starting January 11



Tomorrow, Monday, January 11, GO Transit is starting work on building a new train-shed roof at Union Station.

It’s closing train platforms 24 and 25 to the public. Trains arriving at Union Station that currently open their doors to both platforms 25 and 26 will now only open to platform 26. Construction barriers and signs will appear at all entrances to platforms 24 and 25.

This phase of construction will continue through summer 2010. Once GO workers have finished this phase, GO will re-open the closed tracks and platforms and will the first section of the new glass atrium in place.

Since GO has now finished construction work on platform 5, the westbound 01 Lakeshore West trains trips that leave Union Station at 6:03 and 6:43 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, will leave from platform 5, starting tomorrow.
