Seventh Milton GO Train Starts Service Monday

GO Transit will start service on a seventh GO train operating between MIlton and Toronto’s Union Station. The new train will start service eastbound, departing Milton GO station at 8:08 a.m., making all stops and arriving at Union Station at 9:04 a.m. In the afternoon, this train will depart Union Station westbound at 5:40 p.m., making all stops and arriving at Milton at 6:38 p.m. This is the first new rail service for the line since 2002.

To celebrate the opening of this service, GO Transit will host a customer appreciation event and an official launch ceremony at Malton GO station. Speakers at the event include Gordon Krantz, Mayor of Milton; Hazel McCallion, Mayor of Mississauga; Rob MacIsaac, Chairman of Metrolinx; and Greg Percy, GO Transit’s Vice President of Operations.

To compensate for the new service, trains that formerly departed Milton at 7:58 a.m. will depart at 7:53 a.m. instead, arriving at Union at 8:50. Similarly, the train that formerly departed Union at 5:30 p.m. will depart at 5:25 p.m. instead, arriving in Milton at 6:23 p.m.

The new service also replaces two train-buses, leaving Milton and arriving at Union at 9:20 and 9:40 a.m. respectively.
