GO buses detour in Oshawa March 19



On Thursday night, March 19 and early Friday morning, March 20, the Region of Durham will close Bloor Street West near the Stevenson Road interchange with Highway 401. Work crews will remove steel construction beams that they used when building the new interchange.

GO Transit will detour buses while Bloor Street is closed.

The detour is the same as occurred on February 25 during another phase of the Stevenson Road project.

90 Newcastle - Oshawa

From 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 until 5 a.m. on Friday, March 20, westbound buses operate along their regular route to Stevenson Road South and Highway 401, then detour:

westward along Highway 401;
southward along Thickson Road South;
eastward along Victoria Street East and Bloor Street West; and then
into Oshawa GO Station bus terminal, ending their trips.

Eastbound buses start their trips at Oshawa GO Station, as usual, then detour:

westward along Bloor Street West and Victoria Street East;
southward along Thickson Road South;
eastward along Wentworth Street and Wentworth Street West; and then
northward along Stevenson Road South to Bloor West,
resuming their regular route northward along Stevenson South.

Buses serve all regular stops along their route.

94 Oshawa Highway 2

From 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 until 5 a.m. on Friday, March 20, westbound buses (traveling toward Yorkdale Terminal) start their trips at Oshawa GO Station, as usual, then detour:

westward along Bloor Street West and Victoria Street East;
northward along Thickson Road South;
eastward along Highway 401;
southward along Park Road South to Bloor Street West,
resuming their regular route eastward along Bloor West.

Buses skip their regular stop on Bloor Street West at Stevenson Road South.

Eastbound buses (traveling toward Oshawa GO Station) operate along their regular route to Bloor Street West and Park Road South, then detour:

southward along Park South;
westward along Phillip Murray Avenue;
northward along Boundary Road;
westward along Wentworth Street;
northward along Thickson Road South;
eastward along Victoria Street East and Bloor Street West; and then
into Oshawa GO Station bus terminal, ending their trips.

Buses skip their regular stops on Bloor Street West at Park and Stevenson Roads South.

Closing Bloor Street West should not affect Durham Region Transit bus service.
