1922 - Davenport Streetcar

A Toronto Suburban Railway streetcar picks up passengers on DAVENPORT just west of Bathurst, circa 1923 (the switches in the foreground are on Bathurst Street and suggest that conversion to double track is about to happen). The photo illustrates the quality of the line's construction at the time. The child hanging off the right side of the streetcar looks like he's about to tip it over. This photograph is courtesy the Toronto Archives.
