S-40 - TTC Snow Sweeper (1948-1973)

As with snow sweepers S-30, S-33, S-36, S-37 and S-41, snow sweeper S-40 was built in 1920 for use by the Third Avenue Transit company in New York. The TTC acquired the sweeper in 1948, and you see it here, turning from Harbord onto northbound Spadina on a particularly snowy day, January 23, 1965. The photo is by John F. Bromley and is courtesy the John Knight collection.
