A new Monday-Friday rush hour express route introduced to provide service between northern Etobicoke and Kipling Station. Buses run from the loop west of Martin Grove on Steeles via Steeles, Martin Grove, Finch, Highway 27, Highway 427, Dundas and Auckland to Kipling Station. Buses return via Auckland, Dundas, Highway 427, Highway 27, Humber College, John Garland, Finch, Martin Grove and Steeles.
During the morning rush, northbound buses run through the industrial area northwest of Dixon Rd. & Highway 27 via Dixon Rd., Attwell and Belfield. During the afternoon rush, southbound buses run through the industrial area via Belfield, Attwell and Farnboro. Buses run local both ways between Steeles and Highway 27/Dixon Road and express from there to Kipling. Initial service starts at 5.30 a.m. and then runs every 15 minutes from 6.00 a.m. to 8.45 a.m. and from 4.05 p.m. to 6.20 p.m. Additional trips leave Martin Grove and Finch every 15 minutes from 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Buses will be rerouted to provide more convenient service past Humber College. During the morning rush hour, northbound buses run via the Dixon/Belfield industrial area, Highway 27, Humber College Blvd, Finch and Martin Grove. During the afternoon rush southbound buses run via Martin Grove, Finch, Humber College and Highway 27.

A new stop added both ways at Queen’s Plate Drive (the entrance to Woodbine Shopping Centre).

The north end looping is enlarged to include Royalcrest Road. Morning peak buses loop via Royalcrest, Highway 27 and east on Steeles. Afternoon peak buses reverse this loop.

Service increased during the afternoon peak period from every 15 minutes to every 12 minutes, to reduce overcrowding.

191 HIGHWAY 27 EXPRESS renamed 191 HIGHWAY 27 ROCKET
New service added during midday and early evening periods from Monday to Friday and the daytime on Saturdays. Monday to Friday midday service operatse every 16 minutes, and early evening service operates every 20 to 22 minutes. Saturday service operates every 20 minutes, and does not serve the Attwell Drive industrial area or Royalcrest Road.
Service increased during the morning peak period from 12 minutes to 10 minutes, to reduce overcrowding.
Before noon, northbound buses operate from Kipling Station via west on St Albans Avenue, north on Aukland Road, west on Dundas Street, north on Highway 427, north on Highway 27, west on Humber College Boulevard, east on Finch Avenue, north on Martin Grove Road, west on Steeles Avenue to Martin Grove/Steeles Loop. Buses serve stops at Kipling Station and Dundas & East Mall Crescent only, and then all stops from Highway 27 & Queens Plate Drive to Steeles. Southbound buses operate from the Martin Grove/Steeles Loop, east on Steeles Avenue, south on Martin Grove Road, west on Finch Avenue, south on Highway 27, south on Highway 427, east on Dundas Street, south on Aukland Road to Kipling Station. Buses serve all stops from Steeles to Highway 27 & Queens Plate Drive, and then stop only at Dundas & East Mall Crescent and Kipling Station.

The routing of all off-peak buses on this route changed to bring service closer to Humber College, and to simplify the routing. There was no change to service levels or round-trip times. From the Martin Grove/Steeles loop, southbound buses operate east on Steeles, south on Martin Grove, west on Finch, south and east on Humber College Boulevard, south on Highway 27, south on Highway 427, east on Dundas, south on Aukland to Kipling Station. Northbound buses operate from Kipling Station, west on St. Albans, north on Aukland, west on Dundas, north on Highway 427, north on Highway 27, west and north on Humber College Boulevard, east on Finch, north on Martin Grove, west on Steeles to Martin Grove/Steeles loop.

For the duration of the summer (unitl August 31st), late morning peak short turn service is discontinued.
January 7, 2002
Additional time added to the schedules during the peak periods and midday from Monday to Friday, to improve the reliability of service and reduce the effects of traffic delays. Morning peak period frequencies changed from every 10 minutes to every 11 minutes. During the midday, service changed from every 16 minutes to every 20 minutes, and during the afternoon peak periods, service changed from every 12 minutes to every 11 minutes, 15 seconds.

Service frequencies changed from 20 minutes to every 22 minutes on Saturdays to improve service reliability.
August 31, 2003
Service increased during peak periods and midday from Monday to Friday to reduce crowding. Morning peak service operated at intervals of 9 minutes 30 second while midday service is operated at every 15 minutes, and afternoon peak service operates 10 minute intervals.
September 7, 2004
Sunday and holiday service added, at 20 minute intervals in the morning and 22 minute intervals in the afternoon. Routing is the same as on Saturdays.
Additional travel time added to the schedules during the early evening, Mondays to Fridays. Service frequencies increase from every 20 minutes to every 22 minutes.

Route now operated using fully accessible, lift-equipped buses, even though not all stops along the route are accessible.

Service rerouted through Humber College Boulevard west of Highway 27 in both directions. Service on Humber College Boulevard east of Highway 27 and on John Garland Boulevard continue to be provided by 96 WILSON buses (see PDF of route)

Service on the 191A (Kipling Station-Humber College) branch altered to turn around via Humber College Boulevard, Carrier Drive, Woodbine Downs Boulevard, and Finch Avenue, instead of via Finch Avenue and Highway 27. (See pdf for routing details)
Service increased during the peak periods and midday from Monday to Friday, to reduce crowding. During the morning peak period, the service will be improved from every 9 minutes 30 seconds to every 8 minutes. Between approximately 1:30 and 3:00 p.m., from Monday to Friday, the service improved from every 15 minutes to every 11 minutes. During the afternoon peak period, service is improved from every 10 minutes to every 7 minutes 40 seconds.
A new earlier southbound trip added during Monday to Friday, to provide a connection with the first subway train at Kipling Station. The new trip departs southbound from Steeles Avenue at 5:05 a.m., arriving at Kipling Station at 5:44 a.m.

As part of the TTC’s Ridership Growth Strategy, new late evening service is added so that this bus route operates whenever the subway is open, seven days a week, at intervals of 30 minutes or better.
