First day of service for 141 DOWNTOWN EXPRESS VIA MT.PLEASANT. Buses start from Eglinton and Redpath then run north on Redpath, east on Erskine, south on Mt. Pleasant, south on Jarvis and west on Richmond to York. Local service is provided from Eglinton to St. Clair by serving all stops. South of St. Clair buses run express and stop only on Jarvis at Carlton, Dundas and Queen, then on Richmond at Church, Yonge, Bay, York and Simcoe. There is no northbound service in the morning, and no afternoon service in either direction.

NOTE: The pocket timetable calls Richmond and Simcoe the downtown terminal for this route, but this intersection is not listed as a downtown stop. This article assumes that Richmond & Simcoe is a passenger stop for route 141.

A new southbound stop is added at Jarvis & Wellesley.

September 4, 1990

Service increased, with buses leaving Eglinton & Redpath at 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, 7:50, 8:00, 8:05, 8:15, and 8:26am.

October 15, 1990

Northbound afternoon trips are added to this Downtown Express route. Service begins downtown (at Richmond & Simcoe) and runs south on Simcoe, east on Adelaide, north on Jarvis, north on Mt. Pleasant, west on Erskine and south on Redpath to Eglinton. Passengers are picked up downtown on Adelaide at University, Bay, Yonge and Church, and on Jarvis at Queen, Dundas, Carlton and Wellesley. Local service is provide from Mt. Pleasant & St. Clair northward.

April 1, 1991

An additional AM trip is added beginning from Doncliffe Loop and running south on Mt. Pleasant serving all stops to St. Clair then running express to Richmond & Simcoe.

February 14, 1992

Last day of operation under this name. Beginning February 17th operated as the new 141 PREMIUM EXPRESS VIA MT.PLEASANT route. Coincident with this name change, fares are increased on this route.

New stop added both ways on Mt.Pleasant at Elm (Branksome Hall).

March 31, 1996

The downtown looping is extended west, buses now loop west on Richmond, south on John and east on Adelaide. Service in the downtown core is now ”local” as there is a stop at most intersections on Richmond and on Adelaide.

May 6, 1996

Downtown looping extended further west, buses now loop west on Richmond, south on Peter and east on Adelaide.

December 31, 1998

Last day of the single AM morning trip from Doncliffe Loop to downtown.

February 12, 1999

Last day under the name Premium Express Via Mt. Pleasant. Effective February 15, service renamed 141 DOWNTOWN/MOUNT PLEASANT EXPRESS.
