This new peak period express service is introduced to connect with the new Sheppard Subway at Don Mills Station, giving passengers on Finch East access to the line and a potentially quicker trip to the Yonge Subway.

Although express services were retained on 39 FINCH EAST, this special service proved especially useful during the rush hours it operated, as it allowed Finch commuters to avoid traffic congestion on Finch Avenue between Don Mills and Yonge Street.

Buses run from Don Mills Station EXPRESS on Don Mills, then serve all stops on Finch eastbound to Neilson, looping south on Neilson, west on Crow Trail and north on Baldoon. Buses return west on Finch serving all stops to Cherokee, then operating EXPRESS west on Finch south on Highway 404, south on Fairview Mall Drive, and west on Sheppard to Don Mills Station. Alternate eastbound buses run to McCowan only, looping north on McCowan, and east and south on Sandhurst Circle.

AM service to McCowan eliminated. All trips run through to Neilson.

January 3, 2006

A new midday and evening service is added between Don Mills station and Middlefield on a trial basis. At the east end, buses loop via east on Finch, south and west on Scottfield and north on Middlefield. This service lasted until at least November 2007, but had been eliminated by February 2008.

February 15, 2008

Last day of service. Service renamed 139 FINCH-DON MILLS to reduce passenger confusion over 39 FINCH EAST.
