February 5, 1984

Route established to replace portions of the East Mall branch of the discontinued 87‑MALL CIRCLE route, and provide a new service into the Shorncliffe/North Queen industrial area. Buses run from Kipling Station via north on Auckland, west on Dundas, south on Shorncliffe, west on North Queen, south on The East Mall, west on Queensway and south on West Mall to Sherway Gardens.

May 19, 1985

Route rerouted south of the Queensway via East Mall and Evans to and from Sherway.

February 6, 1989

A new one way rush hour branch established to provide a new service on North Queen west of East Mall. Buses operate from Kipling Station in the morning rush hour via Dundas, Shorncliffe, North Queen, Queensway and West Mall. During the afternoon rush hour buses run to Kipling Station over the reverse routing.

November 23, 1998

Buses running to and from Long Branch loop now serve the newly constructed streetcar islands in the middle of Lake Shore Blvd. rather than stops at the curb.

September 5, 2004

Alternate buses start operating both ways via North Queen and Queensway (the 123C branch) during Monday to Friday midday and early evening hours and during Saturday, Sunday and Holiday daytime hours. This new service alternate with buses running via North Queen, East Mall and Evans to and from Sherway Gardens. The branch names were also changed to better describe the routing.

January 2, 2005

Accessible service introduced on this route, using New Flyer Low-Floor buses recently transferred to Queensway Garage. All buses at all times of the week made accessible.

September 5, 2006

As of this date, service operates every 8-9 minutes from Kipling station during rush hours, with every second bus operating to Long Branch via East York (123) or Sherway via North Queen (123A). Service during the midday every 12 minutes, all to Long Branch, but with every second bus operating via East Mall instead of North Queen (123C). Evening service is as the midday service until 10 p.m. when all buses operate to Long Branch via East Mall at 22 minute intervals. Service on the 123B branch discontinued.

Saturday service operates at twelve minute intervals between Kipling and Long Branch, with every second vehicle until 6 p.m. operating via North Queen instead of East Mall. Sunday service operates at 15 minute intervals, with North Queen service continuing only to 6 p.m.
