Charter Of GM Rebuild 2152 (November 1999)

This charter was held by Glenn Franks and Robert Lubinski. The idea was to take one of the TTC's newest GM New Look (fishbowl) rebuilds for a tour of the city. It was a cloudy day, but the rain held off for some great photo shoots.

Starspray Loop.

The charter picked up at the Downsview Subway Station and then proceeded to the far east end. The first photo stop is seen here at the Starspray loop, where the 54A Lawrence East loops. Going from Eglinton Station at Yonge Street to near the Rouge River (the Pickering Border), route 54A must be one of the TTC's longest bus routes. This photograph was taken by Rob Meale.

Starspray Loop, take two

Here's another view of 2152 taken by Rob Meale in the Starspray loop. Many cars passing by slowed down and gave us puzzled looks as we snapped away at the bus.

McDonalds Lunch Stop

This photograph was taken during the Lunch Stop at McDonalds. 2152 was freshly out of the paint shops in time for this charter and was looking really sharp. Photo by Rob Meale.

Neville Park Loop

This photostop was taken at the Neville Park loop. This loop serves the 501 streetcar as well as the 143 Beach Express. This photograph was taken by Patrick Lavallee, more of his photographs can be viewed by clicking to his website.

Future Comstock Garage Site

This stop was at the future site of the Comstock Bus Garage near the intersection of Warden and Eglinton. This garage is due to open in 2002. This photograph was taken by Patrick Lavallee.

Special thanks go to Glenn Franks and Robert Lubinski for giving us the chance to ride and photograph the newest GM rebuild.
