From 8 p.m. Saturday, October 5 until 10 a.m. Sunday, October 6, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation is closing

  • Highway 401 between Thickson and Lakeridge Roads South

to accommodate contractors who are demolishing part of the bridge that carries Brock Street South Whitby over the highway.

Contractor crews start restricting traffic lanes 8 p.m. Saturday and fully close all traffic lanes by 11:30 p.m. They start reopening traffic lanes 8:30 a.m. Sunday and fully reopen all lanes by about 10 a.m.

The Ministry and its contractors are also closing the Highway 401 eastbound off-ramp to Brock Street and the Highway 401 westbound on-ramp from Consumers Drive (east of Brock Street) during the same period.

From 8 p.m. Saturday, October 5 until 10 a.m. Sunday, October 6, the Region of Durham and the Town of Whitby are closing

  • Brock Street South Whitby (Regional Road 46) between Consumers Drive and the Whitby GO Station access road
