TTC rehabilitating Jane Station, starting May 8

Wednesday, May 8, the TTC starts rehabilitating areas of Jane Station, repairing sections of the bus roadway and the interior finishes such as the concrete floor and terrazzo tiling. Mostly, crews work during daytime hours except for activities that they can only complete when the station is closed.

Although the TTC’s contractor is excavating and replacing sections of the bus roadway, the work zone does not block the entire bus roadway at once. Crews work in phases to allow buses to loop through parts of the station terminal. However, the TTC will be revising service along these routes during construction:

  • 26 Dupont;
  • 35 Jane;
  • 55 Warren Park;
  • 335 Jane overnight; and
  • 935 Jane express.

(The TTC postponed the project from April to May. However, TTC staff had already prepared new schedules before deciding to postpone the project, so some service changes started Sunday, March 31.)

To maintain passenger safety during this work, crews are installing protective fencing around work zones, including in front of the main entrance and some areas of the passenger platform.

Crews work inside the station at night, when it’s closed. They can only repair the floor and tiles when fewer (or no) passengers are in the station.

They mostly work outside every day from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. However, for safety, they will repair a cable shaft on the bus roadway at night, when bus activity is less.

Crews maintain passenger access to the station and subway service throughout construction. Expect dust, noise and debris.

During construction in Jane Station bus terminal, the TTC is extending the path so that buses operate to and from Old Mill Station bus loop.

Starting Sunday, May 12, eastbound buses start their trips in Old Mill Station bus loop, then proceed:

southward along Old Mill Trail;
westward along Bloor Street West to Jane Street,
resuming their usual route northward along Jane.

Eastbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Jane Station bus terminal and
  • on Jane Street north of Bloor Street West.

TTC buses along other routes continue to serve these stops

  • Jane Station, Jane north of Bloor: 35 Jane; 335 Jane overnight; 935 Jane express.
