Some GO trains pick up Union Station passengers
at different platforms, starting February 13

Starting Wednesday, February 13, all trains along GO Transit’s 01 Lakeshore West line and some Monday-to-Friday afternoon trains along the 31 Kitchener and 65 Barrie lines leave from different platforms than usually at Union Station.

GO is rearranging the train platforms for the Lakeshore West and Barrie lines, it says, so that it can improve safety and communications at Union Station by installing platform lighting, electronic signage and a new public-address system in the train shed.

The next phase of the project to upgrade Union Station requires GO to close platforms 6 and 7 and the tracks that serve them for about four months to safely install new platform lighting, electronic signs and a new PA system in the train shed.

This changes how 30,000 passengers get to their trains Monday-to-Friday afternoons and evenings.GO intends to assign extra staff and transit safety officers to make suree people can get to their platform and board their train safely.

GO’s also adjusting the schedules for westbound trains along the Kitchener line and re-introducing the 4:50 p.m. express train.

Here’s where trains leave Union Station, starting February 13.
