The TTC is revising services for the spring, starting Sunday, May 13.

It’s improving service to and from the King Street pilot area along these routes:

It’s reducing services to and from universities and colleges along these routes:

  • 6 Bay;
  • 38 Highland Creek;
  • 41 Keele local;
  • 44 Kipling South;
  • 60E Steeles West express;
  • 75 Sherbourne;
  • 96 Wilson
  • 134C Progress;
  • 188 Kipling South rocket;
  • 191 Highway 27 rocket;
  • 195 Jane rocket; and
  • 198 U of T Scarborough rocket.

It’s resuming seasonal services (or increasing regular services) to beaches, parks and other attractions for spring and summer along these routes:

  • 85 Sheppard East;
  • 86 Scarborough;
  • 92 Woodbine South; and
  • 121 Fort York - Esplanade.

It’s also introducing new seasonal service to and from the Scarborough Bluffs:

  • 175 Bluffer’s Park.

And, due to construction, it’s detouring all buses that usually start and end their trips in Main Street Station:

  • 20 Cliffside;
  • 23 Dawes;
  • 62 Mortimer;
  • 64 Main;

Introducing a new route


175 Bluffer’s Park

Starting Sunday, May 6, the TTC provides accessible bus service to and from the park at the foot of the Scarborough Bluffs weekends.

Buses serving the new route operate between Kennedy Station and Bluffer’s Park beach about every 15 minutes daytime and early evenings Saturdays, Sundays and holidays until October 6.

Southbound buses start their trips in Kennedy Station bus terminal, then proceed:

eastward along Eglinton Avenue East;
southward along Brimley Road; and then
eastward along Bluffer’s Park Road to Bluffer’s Park Beach,
ending their trips.

Southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Kennedy Station bus terminal,
  • on Eglinton Avenue East beside #2495 Eglinton East and at Midland, Huntington and Falmouth Avenues and Brimley Road,

More people travel to and from the Toronto Zoo during spring and summer. The TTC operates buses along the 86A branch of the route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

The Zoo also closes later — at 7 p.m. — during spring and summer.

Starting Saturday, May 6, the TTC is operating later service along the branch to match the later closing time. The last buses leave the Zoo at about 8 p.m. every day.

Spring / summer weekend service ends Labour Day, Monday, September 3.

85 Sheppard East

The Toronto Zoo is closing later — at 7 p.m. — during spring and summer.

Starting Sunday, May 13, the TTC is operating later service along the 85D and 85F branches of the route to match to later closing time. The last buses leave the Zoo at about 8 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Spring / summer weekend service ends Labour Day, Monday, September 3.

165 Weston Rd North

The TTC operates buses on new eastbound trips along the route early Monday-to-Friday mornings.

The buses leave Old Weston Road north of Steeles Avenue West at 5:04 and 5:22 a.m. They arrive in Wilson Station bus terminal at 5:54 and 6:12 a.m. They end their trips in York Mills Station at 6:12 and 6:30 a.m.

The TTC is also increasing the frequency of service along the route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

  • every 5 minutes 20 seconds, instead of every 5½ minutes, during morning rush hours;
  • every 8 minutes 15 seconds, instead of every 8½ minutes, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.; and
  • every 5½ minutes, instead of every 5 minutes 45 seconds, during afternoon rush hours.

Fewer passengers travel to and from Humber College’s North campus during spring and summer. The TTC’s cancelling service along the 191A short-turn branch between Humber College Terminal and Kipling Station Monday-to-Friday mornings.

Specifically, starting Monday, May 14, the northbound buses that usually leave Kipling at 8:50, 9:10, 9:30, 9:50, 10:10 and 10:30 a.m. do not operate. The southbound buses that usually leave Humber at 9:27, 9:44, 10:04, and 10:24 a.m do not operate.

Spring / summer service ends and regular service resumes Tuesday, September 4.

The TTC is also decreasing the frequency of service.

506 Carlton

During construction in Main Street Station terminal, the TTC extends the path so that buses operate to and from Victoria Park Station, instead of Main Street Station.

The TTC is also increasing and decreasing the frequency of service along the route to maintain the reliability of service during this detour and another around construction at Gerrard Street East and Parliament Street.

Starting Sunday, May 13, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every7½ minutes, instead of every 7 minutes 40 seconds, Sundays and holidays from about 8 a.m. until noon.

514 Cherry

The TTC is adjusting the schedules for streetcars operating along the route to improve the reliability of service through the King Street pilot area. It’s increasing the frequency of service every day.

Starting Sunday, May 13, streetcars drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 10 minutes, instead of every 15 minutes, Sundays and holidays from about noon until 7 p.m.

Starting Monday, May 14, the cars serve passengers at stops:

  • every 7 minutes, instead of every 8 minutes, Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours;
  • every 9½ minutes, instead of every 10 minutes, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.; and
  • every 8 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m.

Starting Saturday, May 19, the cars serve passengers:

  • every 13 minutes, instead of every 14 minutes, Saturdays before about 8 a.m.;
  • every 7½ minutes, instead of every 12 minutes, from about noon until 7 p.m.; and
  • every 12½ minutes, instead of every 15 minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m.

The TTC is also making other changes to service along the route.

20 Cliffside

During construction in Main Street Station terminal, the TTC is [interlining] buses operating along the route with buses along the 62 Mortimer route every day, except overnight. To schedule buses along both routes at the same level of service, it’s increasing the frequency of service along route 20 during various time periods.

Starting Sunday, May 13, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 21 minutes, instead of every 24 minutes, Sundays and holidays from about 8 a.m. until noon;
  • every 16 minutes, instead of every24 minutes, from about noon until 7 p.m.; and
  • every 20 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, after about 7 p.m.

Starting Monday, May 14, buses serve passengers at stops

  • every 15 minutes, instead of every 16 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.;
  • every 20 minutes, instead of every 23 minutes, from about 7 until 10 p.m.; and
  • every 20 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, after about 10 p.m.

Starting Saturday, May 19, buses serve passengers:

  • every 18 minutes, instead of every 23 minutes, Saturdays before about 8 a.m.;

Fewer passengers travel to and from the University of Toronto’s Scarborough campus and Centennial College’s Morningside campus during spring and summer. The TTC’s decreasing the frequency of service along the route Mondays-to-Fridays before about 7 p.m.

Starting Monday, May 14, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 11 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes.

Spring / summer service ends and regular service resumes Tuesday, September 4.

165 Weston Rd North

The TTC is adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route to match service levels along the 96 Wilson route. By adjusting the schedules, it increases and decreases the frequency of service during various time periods Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Starting Sunday, May 13, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route:

  • every 8 minutes 40 seconds, instead of every 8½ minutes, Sundays and holidays from about noon until 7 p.m.

At stops east of Weston Road / Albion Road / Walsh Avenue, where buses serving both the 165 Weston Rd North and 96 Wilson routes operate, buses drop off or pick up passengers:

  • every 4 minutes 20 seconds, instead of every 4 minutes 15 seconds.

Starting Saturday, May 19, buses serve passengers at stops:

  • every 9½ minutes, instead of every 9 minutes, Saturdays from about 8 a.m. until noon; and
  • every 7½ minutes, instead of every 7 minutes, from about noon until 7 p.m.

East of Weston / Albion / Walsh, buses serving routes 165 and 96 drop off or pick up passengers:

  • every 4 minutes 45 seconds, instead of every 4½ minutes Saturdays from about 8 a.m. until noon; and
  • every 3 minutes 45 seconds, instead of every 3½ minutes from about noon until 7 p.m.

The TTC is also increasing service along the route.

The TTC is adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route to improve the reliability of the service. By adjusting the schedules, it decreases the frequency of service during various time periods Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at unique stops along the separate 96B and 96D branches of the route:

  • north and west of Humber College Boulevard / Humberline Drive; and
  • between John Garland Boulevard / Martin Grove Road and Kipling Avenue / Westhumber Boulevard / Brookmere Drive.

Buses operating along both branches serve passengers at common stops:

  • between Humber College / Humberline and John Garland / Martin Grove; and
  • east of Kipling / Westhumber / Brookmere.

Starting Sunday, May 13, buses drop off or pick up passengers Sundays and holidays from about noon until 7 p.m.:

  • every 17 minutes 20 seconds, instead of every 17 minutes, at unique stops; and

resuming their regular route westward along Mill.

Adjusting the schedule for buses operating along a route


46 Martin Grove

Starting Monday, May 14, the northbound bus that usually leaves Kipling Station bus terminal at 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays arrives on Martin Grove Road south of Eglinton Avenue West at 3:12 p.m. It continues to pause at the stop, but resumes its northbound trip at 3:17 p.m., instead of 3:14 p.m. It ends its trip in Steeles / Martin Grove Loop at 3:46 p.m.

The bus pauses to pick up passengers travelling from Martingrove Collegiate Institute.

The TTC no longer operates a second northbound bus that leaves Kipling Station at 3 p.m.

Making other changes to service along routes


6 Bay

Starting Sunday, May 13, the TTC relocates the end-of-the-line terminal for northbound buses (and the starting point for southbound buses) from Bedford Road north of Davenport Road to Davenport Road south of Dupont Street.

The TTC is also decreasing the frequency of service along the route.

514 Cherry

The TTC is adjusting the schedules for streetcars operating along the route to improve the reliability of service through the King Street pilot area. It’s increasing the number of Toronto Flexity low-floor, accessible streetcars that it assigns to the route Mondays to Fridays and Saturdays - increasing the frequency of service those days.

Starting Monday, May 14, it serves the route with:

  • 11 Flexity cars, instead of 8, Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours; and

504 King

The TTC is adjusting the schedules for streetcars operating along the route to improve the reliability of service through the King Street pilot area. It’s adjusting the number of Toronto Flexity low-floor, accessible streetcars, CLRVs (Canadian Light Rail Vehicles) and ALRVs (articulated light rail vehicles) that it assigns to the route. Generally, it operates at least 10 Felixity cars along the route at all times of the week, increasing the frequency of service every day.

Starting Sunday, May 13, it serves the route with:

  • 10 Flexity cars and 1 CLRV, instead of 11 CLRVs, Sundays and holidays before about 8 a.m.;
  • 10 Flexitys and 7 CLRVs, instead of 17 CLRVs, from about 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.;
  • 10 Flexitys and 1 CLRV, instead of 11 CLRVs, from about 7 until 10 p.m.; and
  • 10 Flexitys, instead of 10 CLRVs, after about 10 p.m.

Starting Monday, May 14, it serves the route with:

  • 10 Flexity cars and 23 CLRVs, instead of 33 CLRVs, Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours;
  • 10 Flexitys and 17 CLRVs, instead of 27 CLRVs, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.;
  • 10 Flexitys and 23 CLRVs, instead of 33 CLRVs, Mondays to Fridays during afternoon rush hours;
  • 10 Flexitys and 16 CLRVs, instead of 25 CLRVs, from about 7 until 10 p.m.; and
  • 10 Flexitys and 4 CLRVs, instead of 14 CLRVs, after about 10 p.m.

The TTC also provides trippers - streetcars that usually operate just one round trip along the route to provide extra service during rush hours.

Starting Monday, May 14, it operates the trippers with:

  • 6 CLRVs between Sunnyside Loop and King Street East / Parliament Street, instead of 4 ALRVs between Roncesvalles Carhouse and Queen Street East / Broadview Avenue.

Starting Saturday, *May 19, it serves the route with:

  • 10 Flexity cars and 1 CLRV, instead of 11 CLRVs, Saturdays before about 8 a.m.;
  • 10 Flexitys and 7 CLRVs, instead of 17 CLRVs, from about 8 a.m. until noon;
  • 10 Flexitys and 13 CLRVs, instead of 23 CLRVs, from about noon until 7 p.m.;
  • 10 Flexitys and 6 CLRVs, instead of 16 CLRVs, from about 7 until 10 p.m.; and
  • 10 Flexitys and 2 CLRVs, instead of 12 CLRVs, after about 10 p.m.

Starting Sunday, May 13, trains leaving service early evenings may travel southbound along new tracks into Wilson Yard from the north.

Starting Monday, May 14, the TTC is assigning two “gap” trains to relieve overcrowding along the line Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours. It’s stationing the trains at Eglinton and Davisville Stations. Transit control will dispatch the trains southbound when necessary.
