Routes 306 / 506 Carlton: Buses replace cars
starting February 18

Due to the ongoing shortage of streetcars and several upcoming construction projects, the TTC is replacing streetcars with buses along the 306 Carlton overnight and 506 Carlton routes.

Buses cannot access High Park Loop, so it’s also revising the path for buses operating along the 506 route.

Since buses carry fewer passengers than streetcars, the TTC is assigning more vehicles to route 506 and adjusting the schedules. It’s also increasing the frequency of service along the route during most time periods.

Construction projects include:

  • Track and other infrastructure construction in Main Street Station;
  • Track construction at the junction of Broadview Avenue with Gerrard Street East;
  • Track construction at the junction of Parliament Street with Gerrard Street East.
