Major Mackenzie Richmond Hill construction
affects YRT services, starting February 5

Update — Thursday, March 8, 7:07 a.m.: Construction has ended and YRT buses have resumed regular service.

Update — Monday, February 12, 6:05 a.m.: Construction and the YRT delays continue “for three or four weeks”, or until March 2.

Starting Monday, February 5, Enbridge Gas contractors are working at the intersection of

  • Major Mackenzie Drive East with Church Street South in Richmond Hill.

The intersection remains open during construction; however, crews block one lane in each direction on Major Mackenzie East and part of Church Street.

York Region Transit passengers riding buses operating along these routes should expect delays:

  • 4 / 4A Major Mackenzie;
  • 25 Major Mackenzie;
  • 589 / 590 Richmond Hill community bus.

Construction at Major Mackenzie East / Church South in Richmond Hill and the YRT delays continue “for about one week”, or until February 12 “for three or four weeks” or until March 2.
