Eglinton - Crosstown LRT -- Yonge / Eglinton:
Another pedestrian tunnel closing September 24

eglinton crosstown logo.pngMetrolinx contractors continue working to build the future Eglinton - Crosstown light rail transit line.

Construction of the future Eglinton Station on the LRT line at Eglinton Avenue and Yonge Street will soon block the underground pedestrian tunnel linking the TTC’s Eglinton [Subway] Station with RioCan’s Yonge-Eglinton Centre on the northwest corner of the intersection. The tunnel also connects the Line 1 Yonge - University subway station to Oxford Property’s Canada Square complex on the southwest corner. It closes this Sunday, September 24 and remains closed until September, 2021.

The tunnel is one of four that allow pedestrians access to each corner of the intersection. Two of the tunnels closed earlier this year and the fourth closes in 2018.
