Long Branch bus loop construction:
MiWay, TTC detours start September 18



Starting Monday, September 18, the TTC is rebuilding the roadway in the Long Branch bus loop.

While the bus loop is closed, MiWay is detouring buses operating along these routes:

  • 5 Dixie; and
  • 23 Lakeshore.

Construction in Long Branch bus loop and the MiWay and TTC detours continue “for three months” or until December 16.

From Monday, September 18 until Saturday, December 16, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Lakeshore Road East across from Strathy Avenue,

ending their trips.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Lakeshore Road East across from Haig Boulevard and Orchard, Dixie and Deta Roads and west of Island Road,
  • on Lake Shore Boulevard West [Toronto] at Forty-First Street and
  • in Long Branch bus loop.

Southbound passengers travelling to Long Branch must transfer to MiWay buses operating along the 23 Lakeshore route on Lakeshore East across from Strathy.

(MiWay has not announced how southbound buses turn around to reach their northbound starting point.)

Northbound buses start their trips on Lakeshore Road East east of Fergus Avenue, then proceed:

along their regular route westward along Lakeshore East.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • in Long Branch bus loop,
  • on Lake Shore Boulevard West at Forty-Third Street,
  • on Lakeshore Road East [Mississauga] across from Island Road and at Deta and Dixie Roads.

Northbound passengers travelling from Long Branch must board MiWay buses operating along the 23 Lakeshore route and then transfer to buses operating along the 5 Dixie route on Lakeshore East west of Fergus.

From Monday, September 18 until Saturday, December 16, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Lake Shore Boulevard West across from Long Branch bus loop,

ending their trips.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stop

  • in Long Branch bus loop.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Lake Shore Boulevard West across from Long Branch Loop.

(MiWay has not announced how eastbound buses turn around to reach their westbound starting point.)

Westbound buses start their trips on Lake Shore Boulevard West beside Long Branch Loop, then proceed:

along their regular route westward along Lake Shore West.

Westbound buses skip their regular stop

  • in Long Branch bus loop.

Instead, westbound buses drop off passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Lake Shore Boulevard West beside Long Branch Loop.
