HSR detour starts July 4

Starting Tuesday, July 4, City of Hamilton contractors start a project in Dundas to repair

  • the Mill Street bridge over Spencer’s Creek.

During the project, crews block vehicular access from Wellington Street South to Mill Street.

The Hamilton Street Railway is detouring buses operating along this route, while work proceeds:

  • 5 Delaware - Dundas.

During the project, the bridge accommodates just one traffic lane, with a signal controlling access to the bridge. Expect delays.

Construction on the Mill Street bridge and the HSR detour continue “until early December”, or until December 8 February 28, 2018.

From Tuesday, July 4 until Friday, December 8 Wednesday, February 28, 2018, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Mill Street and Wellington Street South, then detour:

eastward along Mill;
northward along Peel Street South; and then
westward along Hatt Street to Wellington South,
resuming their regular route westward along Hatt.

Eastbound buses serve all stops.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Wellington Street South and Hatt Street, then detour:

eastward along Hatt;
southward along Peel Street South; and then
westward along Mill Street to Wellington Street South,
resuming their regular route westward along Mill.

Westbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Wellington Street South at Mill Street.
