Bay / Wellington West construction:
TTC detours, June 1 to 5

The City of Toronto is closing:

  • the intersection of Wellington Street West with Bay Street

from 7 p.m. Thursday, June 1 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 5, as part of a longer-term project to

  • rebuild the water-mains,
  • rebuild the TTC streetcar tracks and
  • resurface the roadway

on Wellington Streets East and West between Church and York Streets.

The TTC is already detouring streetcars operating along the 503 Kingston Rd route to accommodate work on the project.

South- and northbound traffic on Bay Street won’t operate through the intersection at Wellington West this weekend. Traffic continue to flow along Wellington West, but just on one lane, and motorists can’t turn onto Bay Street.

This weekend, the TTC’s also detouring buses operating along these routes:

  • 6 Bay; and
  • 72 Pape.
