Eaton Centre pedestrian bridge removal:
TTC detours, May 19, 20, 21, 22



Starting 11 p.m. tonight, Friday, May 19, the City of Toronto is closing:

  • Queen Street West between Bay and Yonge Street

to accommodate contractors who are removing the pedestrian bridge linking CF Eaton Centre with the Hudson’s Bay Company Queen Street store.

The TTC is detouring buses operating along these routes, while the street is closed:

  • 301 Queen overnight;
  • 501L Queen / Long Branch; and
  • 501P Queen / Park Lawn.

Construction to remove the pedestrian bridge and the TTC detours continue until 5 a.m. **Victoria Day, Monday, May 22.

From 11 p.m. Friday, May 19 until 5 a.m. Victoria Day, Monday, May 22, eastbound buses operate along their regular route to Queen Street West and Bay Street, then detour:

southward along Bay;
eastward along Adelaide Street East; and then
northward along Yonge Street to Queen,
resuming their regular route eastward along Queen East.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Queen Street West at Yonge Street.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Yonge Street at Richmond and Queen Streets East.

Westbound buses operate along their regular route to Queen and Yonge Streets, then detour:

southward along Yonge;
westward along Richmond Street West; and then
northward along Bay Street to Queen West,
resuming their regular route westward along Queen.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Queen Street East at Yonge Street and
  • on Queen Street West at Bay Street.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Yonge Street at Richmond Street West.
