The City of Burlington is closing:

  • New Street between Guelph Line and Martha Street

overnight for two nights this week as contractors repave the roadway.

The City is closing this section of the street in two phases:

  • between Teen Tour Way and Martha Street from 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 until 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 17; and
  • between Guelph Line and Teen Tour Way from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 5 a.m. Thursday, May 18.

Burlington Transit is detouring buses operating along these routes, while the street is closed:

  • 10 New / Maple;
  • 50 Burlington South late-night; and
  • 52 Burlington Northwest late-night.

This work follows major water-main and sewer construction on this section of New Street in 2016.

Tuesday, May 16, buses operate along their regular route to New Street and Teen Tour Way, then detour:

north- and westward along Teen Tour;
southward along Drury Lane;
westward along Caroline Street; and then
southward along Martha Street to New,
resuming their regular route southward along Martha.
