Update — Friday, October 28, 5:36 p.m.: Construction at Lawrence West Station has ended and passengers are now using the PRESTO-enabled fare gates at the station.

The TTC continues to install new PRESTO fare gates at more stations.

Bayview, Bessarion and Lawrence West stations are next.

TTC crews are removing turnstiles and high gates and replacing them with new, PRESTO-enabled fare gates. The new gates provide easier access and improve the flow of passengers into and out of stations.

During construction, you can only access the station at the collector booth aisle at the main entrance.

After the new fare gates are active, you can still use tickets, tokens and Metropasses to pay your fare when you enter the station — but only at the collector booth.

The TTC is assigning ambassadors to the stations to help you figure out how to get around during construction. It will also install way-finding signs.

  • Bayview: Construction starts Monday, September 12. It continues until January 24, 2017.
  • Bessarion: Construction starts Wednesday, September 7. It continues until November 30.
  • Lawrence West: Construction starts Thursday, September 8. It continues until December 15.

Bayview Station

Construction at the main entrance starts Monday, September 12. You can access the station through the collector booth aisle and exit the station through an aisle beside the construction hoarding.

Construction at the main entrance to Bayview Station continues until December 31.

Construction at the “automatic entrance” to the station on the south side of Sheppard Avenue East east of Bayview Avenue starts Tuesday, November 22.

The TTC is closing the automatic entrance from 10 p.m. Tuesday, November 22 until 6 a.m. Thursday, November 24. While the automatic entrance is closed, you can only access the station through the entrance on Bayview Avenue.

Construction at the automatic entrance continues until January 24, 2017.

At an “automatic” entrance, you can enter only with a token or Metropass. After the station is PRESTO-enabled, you can use your PRESTO card to enter, too.
