Queen Street West construction affects Brampton Transit service, starting July 11



Update — Thursday, September 1, 4:21 p.m.: Brampton Transit revises its routes and services, starting Tuesday, September 6.


Monday, July 11, Region of Peel contractors start a project to rebuild and widen

  • Queen Street West [Regional Road 6] from east of Mississauga Road to Chinguacousy Road.

Crews are:

  • digging up the old roadway;
  • installing storm sewers;
  • replacing culverts;
  • installing new sidewalks;
  • installing new bus-stop platforms;
  • installing Züm bus-rapid-transit facilities;
  • installing permanent and temporary traffic-control signals;
  • paving; and
  • placing pavement markings and traffic signs.

(Updated — Thursday, September 1, 4:21 p.m.) During construction, expect delays for Brampton Transit buses operating along these routes:

  • 1 Queen (starting Tuesday, September 6);
  • 6 James Potter;
  • 55 Elbern Markell (starting Tuesday, September 6);
  • 56 Springbrook (until Labour Day, Monday, September 5);
  • 60 Mississauga Road (starting Tuesday, September 6); and
  • 561 Züm; Queen West (starting Tuesday, September 6).

Construction on Queen Street West and the Brampton Transit delays continue until November 30, 2017.
