Free YRT shuttle service along Highway 7
during long-term construction



Update — Monday, August 14, 12:44 p.m.: Contractors have almost finished the project. Tonight, they start final overnight paving between Sciberras Road and Warden Avenue for about three weeks, or until September 1. They’ll pave between Warden and Town Centre Boulevard for about three weeks, or until September 22.


Starting Monday, March 7 York Region Transit is operating a free shuttle service for pedestrians wanting to walk through the work zone during long-term construction on Highway 7 between east of Sciberras Road and Village Parkway / Birchmount Road. Shuttles operate between Courtyard Lane and Main Street Unionville Mondays to Fridays from 9:20 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Passengers can board the YRT- / Viva-marked accessible vehicles at YRT bus stops along the route.

Westbound shuttles start their trips on Eureka Street north of Highway 7, then proceed:

westward along Highway 7;
southward along South Town Centre Boulevard;
eastward along Clegg Road; and then
northward along Courtyard Lane to Highway 7,
ending their trips.

Westbound shuttles drop off or pick up passengers at stops:

  • on Highway 7 east of Sciberras Road, at Village Parkway, west of Village Parkway and at Warden Avenue.

Westbound shuttles do not serve stops in the construction zone between east of Sciberras and Village.

Eastbound buses start their trips on Courtyard Lane south of Highway 7, then proceed:

eastward along Highway 7,
northward along Main Street Unionville;
westward along Euclid Street; and then
southward along Eureka Street to Highway 7,
ending their trips.

Eastbound shuttles drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Highway 7 at Warden Avenue, east of Warden Avenue, at Birchmount Road and across from Sciberras Road.

Eastbound shuttles do not serve stops in the construction zone between Birchmount Road and east Sciberras Road.
