Weekend event affects transit service,
January 24



The City of Burlington is closing traffic lanes on various streets in downtown Burlington to accommodate the annual Robbie Burns 8K Road Race, tomorrow morning, Sunday, January 24.

The event delays service along these Burlington Transit routes from about 9 until 11 a.m.

3 Guelph

Expect delays for buses operating:

  • southbound along Guelph Line between New Street and Lakeshore Road;
  • westbound along Lakeshore Road between Guelph Line and John Street; and
  • northbound along Brant Street between Baldwin Street / Victoria Avenue and Fairview Street.
21 Fairview

Expect delays for buses operating:

  • eastward along Fairview Street between Brant Street and Guelph Line; and
  • southward along Guelph Line between Fairview and Prospect Streets.
10 New / Maple

Expect delays for buses operating:

  • westward along Lakeshore Road between John and Locust Streets.

Also expect delays at New Street and Guelph Line.

25 Walkers

Expect delays for buses operating:

  • eastward along Fairview Street between Brant Street and Guelph Line; and
  • southward along Guelph Line between Fairview and Prospect Streets.

The event also delays service along this Hamilton Street Railway route from about 9 until 11 a.m.

11 Parkdale

Expect delays for buses operating:

  • westward along Lakeshore Road between John and Locust Streets.
