Neville Park Loop construction:
TTC overnight detours, January 13, 14

The City of Toronto is assessing conditions under the roadway and streetcar track on Queen Street East near Neville Park Loop. The City’s contractor is obtaining samples of the soil which requires them to drill multiple test holes.

Early Wednesday, January 13 and Thursday, January 14, the contractor is drilling five test holes into the streetcar track allowance including one in Neville Park Loop, requiring the TTC to replace streetcars with buses.

Due to streetcar operations and high traffic volumes through this area during the daytime, the work crew must obtain the samples over the course of two nights from about 1 until 4 a.m. They’ll occupy the track area once buses start operating and will clear the tracks before streetcars resume. Two TTC flag persons will ensure a safe work zone for the contractor.

The TTC’s short-turning streetcars operating along these routes at Kingston Road:

  • 301 Queen overnight; and
  • 501 Queen.

The shuttle buses operate between Neville Park Loop and Coxwell Avenue.
