A construction project is blocking access to Eagle Street between Water Street and Lorne Avenue today, Thursday, October 24.

York Region Transit is detouring buses operating along the 56 Gorham - Eagle and 520 / 521 Newmarket community bus routes, while the street is closed.


56 Gorham - Eagle

All day Thursday, October 24, westbound buses operate along their regular routes to Water Street and Main Street South, then detour:

northward along Main South;
westward along Park Avenue; and then
southward along Lorne Avenue to Eagle Street,
resuming their regular route westward along Eagle.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Eagle Street at Church Street, across from Ellen Street and at Lorne Avenue.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Main Street South across from Botsford Street and
  • on Lorne Avenue at Eagle Street.

Eastbound buses reverse the detour routing.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Eagle Street at Ellen Street and east of William Street.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Lorne Avenue at Park Avenue and
  • on Main Street South at Botsford Street.
