Leslie Street upgrades and track installation:
Overnight construction, July 8 to 9

Update — Friday, September 13, 7:46 p.m.: Starting Thursday, September 19, the City is closing parts of Leslie Street north of Lake Shore Boulevard East to all traffic. The TTC is revising the detour routing for buses operating along the 83 Jones route that day.

City of Toronto and TTC contractors continue working to upgrade the street and install streetcar tracks on Leslie Street next week.

They’re building new tracks to connect the future Leslie Barns streetcar maintenance and storage facility to the tracks on Queen Street East.

Crews are working on removing pipes, wiring and other “underground infrastructure” overnight from 8 p.m. Monday, July 8 until 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 9.

They’ll reduce a section of the street between Commissioners Street and Lake Shore Boulevard East to one just lane that both north- and southbound traffic share. A flag person will direct traffic flow.

The TTC continues to detour buses operating along the 83 Jones route during this phase of the construction.
