Queen / Yonge track repairs:
TTC detours, June 14 to 17



The TTC is repairing the streetcar tracks in the intersection of Queen and Yonge Streets this weekend.

It’s detouring cars operating along the 301 Queen overnight and 501 Queen routes during the work from 7 p.m. Friday, June 14 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 17. Shuttle buses replace the cars, operating between Bathurst and Jarvis Streets.

301 Queen overnight

From 7 p.m. Friday, June 14 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 17, eastbound streetcars operate along their regular route to Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue, then detour:

southward along Spadina;
eastward along King Streets West and East; and then
northward along Church Street to Queen Street East,
resuming their regular route eastward along Queen.

Eastbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Queen Street West at Peter, John and Duncan Streets, University Avenue, York, Bay and Yonge Streets and
  • on Queen Street East at Victoria and Church Streets.

Instead, eastbound cars drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Spadina Avenue south of Queen Street West,
  • on King Street West at Blue Jays Way, John and Simcoe Streets, University Avenue, York, Bay and Yonge Streets,
  • on King Street East at Church Street and
  • on Church Street north of Lombard Street and at Queen Street East.

Westbound streetcars reverse the eastbound detour routing.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Queen Street East at Victoria and Yonge Streets and
  • on Queen Street West at Bay Street, opposite York Street, at University Avenue, west of Simcoe Street, at McCaul, John and Soho Streets and Spadina Avenue.

Instead, westbound cars drop off and pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Church Street at Richmond, Adelaide and King Streets East,
  • on King Street East at Victoria and Yonge Streets,
  • on King Street West at Bay and York Streets, University Avenue, Simcoe, John and Peter Streets and Spadina Avenue and
  • on Spadina Avenue north of King Street West and at Richmond Street West.

Shuttle buses replace the cars between Bathurst and Jarvis Streets.

From 7 p.m. Friday, June 14 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 17, eastbound buses start their trips in Wolseley Loop on Bathurst Street, north of Queen Street West, then proceed:

southward along Bathurst;
eastward along Queen Streets West and East;
northward along Mutual; and then
eastward along Shuter Street to Jarvis Street,
ending their trips.

Eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Queen Street West across from Denison Avenue (Sunday only), at Augusta and Spadina Avenues, Peter, John and Duncan Streets, University Avenue, York, Bay and Yonge Streets and
  • on Queen Street East at Victoria and Church Streets.

Westbound buses start their trips on Shuter Street at Jarvis Street, then proceed:

southward along Jarvis;
westward along Queen Streets East and West;
northward along Bathurst to Wolseley Loop; and then
eastward into the loop, ending their trips.

Westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Queen Street East at Church, Victoria and Yonge Streets and
  • on Queen Street West at Bay Street, across from York Street, at University Avenue, west of Simcoe Street, at McCaul, John and Soho Streets, Spadina and Augusta Avenues, Denison Avenue (Sunday only) and Bathurst Street.
