The TTC is increasing service to summer attractions, decreasing services to colleges and universities and making other changes to its services, starting Sunday, May 12.

Increasing service along current routes


28A Davisville

Starting Sunday, May 12, the TTC adds to its current Saturday-only service by operating buses along this branch of the route Sundays and holidays.

Westbound buses leave the Brickworks at 8:45 a.m. Sundays and holidays and every 30 minutes until 6:15 p.m. Eastbound buses leave Davisville Station at 8:30 a.m. and every 30 minutes until 6 p.m.

101 Downsview Park

Starting Monday, May 13, the TTC resumes Monday-to-Friday service along the route.

Eastbound buses leave Downsview Park at 6:10 a.m. and every 20 minutes until 10:10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Westbound buses leave Downsview Station at 6 a.m. and every 20 minutes until 10 p.m.

29D Dufferin (to Princes’ Gates)

More people travel to events at Exhibition Place, BMO Field, the Ricoh Coliseum and other nearby venues during spring and summer, so, starting Monday, May 13, the TTC resumes operating buses along this branch of the route seven days a week after 9 a.m.

That means that TTC buses again serve this branch of the route Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and after 7 p.m. and continue to do so until just before the start of the annual Canadian National Exhibition. All buses start and end their trips at the Dufferin Gate Loop whenever major events block buses from entering Exhibition Place.

Summer service ends and regular service resumes Tuesday, September 3.

73 Royal York

Starting Monday, May 13, the TTC operates buses on new Monday-to-Friday northbound trips along the 73A branch between Dixon Road and Royal York Station to reduce crowding.

The buses leave Royal York Station at 6:07, 6:27, 6:47 and 7:07 a.m. Mondays to Fridays.

85 Sheppard East

Starting Sunday, May 12, the TTC operates buses along the route to and from the Toronto Zoo later Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The last buses leave the zoo at about 8:30 p.m. The last day for later service to the zoo is Labour Day, Monday, September 4.

86 Scarborough

Starting Sunday, May 12, the Toronto Zoo is open until 8 p.m. seven days a week, so the TTC is operating buses along the route to and from the seven days a week and buses to and from the zoo later Mondays to Fridays. The last buses leave the zoo at about 8:30 p.m. every day. The last day for summer weekend and holiday service to the zoo and later Monday-to-Friday service to the zoo is Labour Day, Monday, September 4.

Decreasing service along current routes


191 Highway 27 rocket

Fewer passengers travel to and from Humber College’s North Campus during spring and summer, so Friday, May 10 is the last day until September that the TTC operates buses along the 191A branch between the campus and Kipling Station. The southbound buses that start their trips at Humber College at 9:26, 9:46, 10:06 and 10:26 a.m. no longer operate. The northbound buses that leave Kipling Station at 8:50, 9:10, 9:30, 9:50, 10:10 and 10:30 a.m., ending their trips at Humber, also no longer operate.

The TTC is also decreasing the frequency of service along the route.

Summer service ends and regular service resumes Tuesday, September 3.

35 Jane

Friday, May 10 was the last day that the TTC operated a bus on the first Monday-Friday round trip along the 35B (Pioneer Village and Steeles) branch since few passengers were riding that bus. The first northbound bus usually left Jane Station at 8:18 a.m. Mondays to Fridays and left Jane Street south of Steeles Avenue West at 9:04 a.m. Instead, the first northbound bus to operate along the 35B branch leaves Jane Station at 8:45 a.m.

Increasing the frequency of service along current routes

192 Airport rocket

Since more people travel to Toronto Pearson International Airport during spring and summer than during the rest of the year, starting Sunday, May 12, the TTC operates more buses along the route to increase the frequency of service seven days a week.

Starting Sunday, May 12, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route every 10 minutes, instead of every 13 minutes 20 seconds Sundays and holidays before 11 a.m. They serve stops along the route every 13½ minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, Sundays and holidays after midnight (early Mondays and the days after statutory holidays).

Starting Monday, May 13, buses serve the stops every 10 minutes, instead of every 16 minutes, Mondays to Fridays before 7 a.m. They serve the stops every 10 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes, from about 7 a.m. until noon. They serve the stops every 8½ minutes, instead of every 10 minutes 20 seconds from about noon until 3 p.m.

Starting Saturday, May 18, buses serve stops every 10 minutes, instead of every 13½ minutes Saturdays before 11 a.m. They serve stops along the route every 13½ minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, Saturdays after midnight (early Sundays).

Summer service ends and regular service resumes Tuesday, September 3.

21 Brimley

Starting Monday, May 13, the TTC operates one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the 21A branch - south of Scarborough Centre Station - every 11½ minutes, instead of every 13 minutes 20 seconds.

The TTC is also making another change to service along the route.

Buses only enter Dufferin Loop on northbound trips.

Buses serve stops north of Dufferin Loop every 3 minutes 45 seconds, instead of every 4 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 7 until 10 p.m. They serve stops south of Dufferin Loop every 7½ minutes.

After 10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, all buses operate along the 29D branch. They serve stops every 7 minutes 15 seconds. Buses only enter Dufferin Loop on northbound trips.

Starting Saturday, May 18, all buses operate along the 29D branch Saturdays after 10 p.m. They serve stops every 10 minutes, instead of every 11 minutes. Buses only enter Dufferin Loop on northbound trips.

509 Harbourfront

Since more passengers travel to and from Exhibition Place, Harbourfront, the Toronto Island Ferries and other sites near the central waterfront during spring and summer, the TTC’s operating more buses along the route to increase the frequency of service Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Starting Sunday, May 12, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route every 3 minutes 20 seconds, instead of every 4 minutes 15 seconds, Sundays and holidays from about 9 a.m. until noon. They serve stops along the route every 2 minutes 45 seconds, instead of every 3 minutes 20 seconds, from about noon until 7 p.m. They serve the stops every 2 minutes 45 seconds, instead of every 3 minutes 20 seconds, from about 7 until 10 p.m. They serve the stops every 4 minutes, instead of every 5 minutes 40 seconds after 10 p.m.

Starting Saturday, May 18, buses serve stops along the route every 5 minutes, instead of every 5½ minutes, Sundays and holidays before 9 a.m. They serve the stops every 3½ minutes, instead of every 4 minutes 15 seconds, from about 9 a.m. until noon. They serve the stops every 2 minutes 49 seconds, instead of every 3 minutes, from about noon until 7 p.m. They serve the stops every 3 minutes 45 seconds, instead of every 4 minutes 20 seconds, from about 7 until 10 p.m. They serve the stops every 4 minutes, instead of every 5 minutes 45 seconds after 10 p.m.

Summer weekend service ends Labour Day, Monday, September 2. Regular weekend service resumes Saturday, September 8.

72 Pape

The TTC extends service to Cherry Beach Mondays to Fridays after 7 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays after 9 a.m.

With more people traveling to the waterfront during spring and summer, the TTC is also operating more buses along the route to increase the frequency of service at certain times of the week.

Starting Sunday, May 12, buses drop off and pick up passengers at each stop along the route north of Eastern and Carlaw Avenues every 10 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes, Sundays and holidays after 7 p.m.

Starting Monday, May 13, the buses serve each stop north of Eastern and Carlaw every 12 minutes, instead of every 13 minutes, Mondays to Fridays after 10 p.m. They serve each stop south and west of Eastern and Carlaw every 24 minutes, instead of every 26 minutes.

Starting Saturday, May 18, the buses serve each stop north of Eastern and Carlaw every 12 minutes, instead of every 13 minutes, Saturdays after 10 p.m. They serve each stop south and west of Eastern and Carlaw every 24 minutes, instead of every 26 minutes.

90 Vaughan

Starting Monday, May 13, the TTC operates one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Monday-to-Friday midday.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route every 8 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

92 Woodbine South

Since more passengers travel to and from Ashbridges Bay Park and Woodbine Beach during spring and summer, the TTC operates one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service seven days a week.

Starting Sunday, May 12, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route every 6 minutes, instead of every 8 minutes, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays before 7 p.m. They serve stops along the route every 10 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, after 7 p.m. seven days a week.

Fewer passengers travel to and from George Brown College’s Waterfront Campus during spring and summer, so the TTC operates two fewer buses along the route to decrease the frequency of service Mondays to Fridays during rush hours. (In fact, it cancels all service along the 6C branch between Union Station and the campus.)

Starting Monday, May 13, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops south of Union Station every 3 minutes 15 seconds, instead of every 2 minutes 28 seconds, during morning rush hours. They serve the stops every 5 minutes, instead of every 3 minutes 20 seconds, during afternoon rush hours.

191 Highway 27 rocket

Fewer passengers travel to and from Humber College’s North Campus during spring and summer, the TTC operates one less bus along the main route to decrease the frequency of service, Mondays to Fridays from about 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Starting Monday, May 7, buses drop off and pick up passengers at each stop west of U of T Scarborough every 9½ minutes, instead of every 7½ minutes, Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours. It serves each stop west of U of T Scarborough every 7½ minutes, instead of every 6 minutes, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. It serves each stop every 8 minutes, instead of every 6 minutes, during afternoon rush hours.

East of U of T Scarborough, buses serve each stop every 19 minutes, instead of every 15 minutes, during morning rush hour. They serve each stop every 15 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. They serve each stop every 16 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes during afternoon rush hours.

Buses drop off and pick up passengers at each stop along the route every 6½ minutes, instead of every 4 minutes 20, between the campus and Finch Station from about 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They continue to operate every 13 minutes between Highway 27 and Finch Station.

196 York University rocket

Fewer passengers are traveling to or from York University’s Keele Campus, so, starting Monday, May 7, the TTC operates fewer buses along the route to decrease the frequency of service Mondays to Fridays from about 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

It operates eight fewer buses from about 7 until 10:20 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. Buses serve each stop between the campus and Downsview Station every 3 minutes 15 seconds, instead of every 2 minutes. (Since every third bus continues along Sheppard Avenue West beyond Downsview Station to Sheppard - Yonge Station, buses operate to Sheppard - Yonge every 6½ minutes, instead of every 6 minutes.)

It operates six fewer buses from about 10:20 a.m. until 3 p.m. Buses serve each stop between the campus and Downsview every 3 minutes 20 seconds, instead of every 2 minutes. (Buses operate between the campus and Sheppard - Yonge Station every 6 minutes 40 seconds, instead of every 8 minutes.)

It operates five fewer buses during afternoon rush hours. Buses serve each stop between the campus and Downsview every 3 minutes, instead of every 2 minutes. (Buses operate between the campus and Sheppard - Yonge Station every 6 minutes, instead of every 5 minutes 40 seconds.)

It operates two fewer buses from about 7 until 10 p.m. Buses serve each stop between the campus and Downsview every 4 minutes, instead of every 3 minutes. (Buses operate between the campus and Sheppard - Yonge Station every 9 minutes, instead of every 8 minutes.)

Revising the path of a current route


58 Malton

Starting Monday, May 13, the TTC revises the routing through Toronto Pearson International Airport. Buses follow the same stopping sequence as those operating along the 192 Airport rocket route. They drop off or pick up passengers at the stop on Jetliner Road, south of Airport Road at ground level, then the bus stop at the upper level of Jetliner Road and Airport Road, then Terminal 1 Ground Level, and then Terminal 3 Arrival Level.

The change does not affect the frequency of service or the overall running time, although the times that buses serve individual stops at the airport changes.

Extending the path of current routes


72A Pape via Commissioners
72B Pape via Commissioners & Cherry St

Starting Sunday, May 12, the TTC extends the route of the 72A Pape via Commissioners service, so that buses operate to and from Cherry Beach Monday-to-Friday evenings and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays along the 72B Pape via Commissioners & Cherry St branch.

South- and westbound buses operate along the regular 72A branch to Commissioners and Cherry Streets, then proceed:

southward along Cherry to Cherry Beach;
turning around through the loop; and then
northward along Cherry to Commissioners,
resuming the regular 72A branch northward along Cherry.

East- and northbound buses operate along thei regular 72A branch to Cherry and Commissioners Streets, then proceed:

southward along Cherry to Cherry Beach;
turning around through the loop; and then
northward along Cherry to Commissioners,
resuming the regular 72A branch eastward along Commissioners.

Buses operate along the 72B branch every 24 minutes Mondays to Saturdays after 7 p.m., every 22½ minutes before 7 p.m. Saturdays and every 30 minutes all day Sundays and holidays.

Buses continue to serve the 72A branch Mondays to Fridays before 7 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays before 9 a.m.

165 Weston Rd North

The TTC is resuming service along the 165A branch to and from Canada’s Wonderland Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from about 9 a.m. until 10 p.m., replacing the regular service along the 165D branch to and from Major Mackenzie Drive during those hours.

Starting Sunday, May 6, it operates one more bus along the entire route to provide the service to and from Wonderland. Buses drop off and pick up passengers at each stop along the 165A branch every 40 minutes Sundays and holidays.

Starting Saturday, May 12, it operates one more bus along the entire route to provide service to and from Wonderland. Buses serve each stop along the every 24 minutes Saturday mornings and every 40 minutes Saturday afternoons and evenings.

South- and eastbound buses operating along the 165A Weston Rd North branch start their trips at the Wonderland Terminal, then proceed:

north- and eastward along the Wonderland Access Road;
southward along Jane Street; and then
westward along Major Mackenzie Drive West to the off-street loop west of Highway 400,
resuming the regular 165D route westward along Major Mackenzie West.

West- and northbound buses reverse this routing.

The first bus arrives at Wonderland from York Mills Station at 9:35 a.m. Saturdays and 9:47 a.m. Sundays and holidays. The last bus leaves Wonderland for York Mills at 10:48 p.m. Saturdays and 8:30 p.m. Sundays and holidays.

The last day for the TTC’s service to and from Wonderland is Sunday, October 27.

The TTC is also making another change to service along the route.

Fewer passengers are traveling to or from York University’s Keele Campus during spring and summer, so, starting Monday, May 7, the TTC operates fewer buses along the route to decrease the frequency of service Mondays to Fridays from about 7:30 a.m. until 10 p.m.

192 Airport rocket

Since more people travel to Toronto Pearson International Airport during spring and summer than during the rest of the year, starting Sunday, May 6, the TTC operates more buses along the route to increase the frequency of service along the route seven days a week.

511 Bathurst

Since more passengers travel to events at Exhibition Place, BMO Field, the Ricoh Coliseum and other nearby venues on the western waterfront during spring and summer, the TTC operates larger vehicles along the route all day Sundays and holidays.

28A Davisville

Starting Sunday, May 6, the TTC adds to its current Saturday-only service by operating buses along this branch of the route Sundays and holidays.

101 Downsview Park

Starting Monday, May 7, the TTC resumes Monday-to-Friday service along the route.

29D Dufferin

More people travel to events at Exhibition Place, BMO Field, the Ricoh Coliseum and other nearby venues during spring and summer, so, starting Sunday, May 6, the TTC resumes operating buses along this branch of the route seven days a week after 9 a.m.

509 Harbourfront

Since more passengers travel to and from Harbourfront and the central waterfront during spring and summer, starting Sunday, May 6, the TTC is increasing the frequency of service along the route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

72A Pape via Commissioners
72B Pape via Commissioners & Cherry St

Starting Sunday, May 8, the TTC extends the path of the route for the 72A Pape via Commissioners service, so that buses operate to and from Cherry Beach Monday-to-Friday evenings and all day Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

86A Scarborough

Starting Sunday, May 6, the Toronto Zoo is open until 7 p.m. seven days a week, so the TTC is operating buses along the route to and from the seven days a week and later buses to and from the zoo Mondays to Fridays. The last buses leave the zoo at about 7:30 p.m. every day. The last day for summer weekend and holiday service to the zoo and later Monday-to-Friday service to the zoo is Labour Day, Monday, September 2.

85B / D / H Sheppard East

Starting Sunday, May 6, the TTC operates later buses along the route to and from the Toronto Zoo Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The last buses leave the zoo at about 7:30 p.m. The last day for later service to the zoo is Labour Day, Monday, September 2.

92 Woodbine South

Since more passengers travel to and from Ashbridges Bay Park and Woodbine Beach during spring and summer, starting Sunday, May 8, the TTC operates more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service seven days a week.

Adjusting the schedules of current routes


50 Burnhamthorpe

Starting Monday, May 13, the TTC adjusts the schedules for buses operating Mondays to Fridays during afternoon rush hours. The change improves the reliability of the service but does not affect the frequency of service.

32 Eglinton West

Starting Monday, May 13, the TTC adjusts the schedules for buses operating Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours. The change improves the reliability of the service but does not affect the frequency of service.

45 Kipling

Starting Monday, May 13, the TTC adjusts the times that buses operate on two southbound trips along the route during morning rush hours. The adjusted times allow the TTC to provide a more consistent frequency of service during the early rush hour.

112 West Mall

Starting Monday, May 13, the TTC adjusts the time of the last buses operating along the route late evenings (or, technically, very early mornings) seven days a week. The adjusted times improve service for passengers transferring to buses operating along other routes.

Making other changes to service along current routes


511 Bathurst

Since more passengers travel to events at Exhibition Place, BMO Field, the Ricoh Coliseum and other nearby venues on the western waterfront during spring and summer, the TTC operates larger vehicles along the route at busy periods of the week.

Starting Sunday, May 13, the TTC operates ALRVs (articulated light rail vehicles or “bendy” streetcars), instead of CLRVs (Canadian light rail vehicles), along the route all day Sundays and holidays throughout the spring and summer.

The cars continue to drop off or pick up passengers at stops as frequently as usually.

21 Brimley

As part of the TTC’s program to find ways to speed up service, the TTC is eliminating some stops along routes that are close to nearby stops.

Starting Monday, May 12, southbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers on Brimley Road south Lawrence Avenue East.

Passengers may continue to board southbound buses at the northwest corner of Brimley Road and Lawrence Avenue East.

The TTC is also increasing the frequency of service along the route.

145 Downtown / Humber Bay express

Starting Monday, May 13, buses serve new stops in downtown Toronto.

Eastbound buses drop off passengers at new stops northbound on Bathurst Street at King Street West and eastbound on Adelaide Street West at Spadina Avenue.

Westbound buses pick up passengers at new stops westbound on Richmond Street West at Spadina Avenue and southbound on Bathurst Street at King Street West.

165 Weston Rd North

Starting Monday, May 13, westbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stop beside #1196 Wilson Avenue. Since the City of Toronto recently relocated a pedestrian crossing at this location removing the stop from service and reduces the possibility of unsafe jay-walking by passengers wishing to board the buses.

Passengers may continue to board westbound buses at stops on Wilson Avenue at Agate Road to the east or at Julian Road to the west.

The TTC is also extending the path of the route.

96 Wilson
319 Wilson overnight

Starting Monday, May 13, westbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stop beside #1196 Wilson Avenue.
