Spring service to Canada's Wonderland resumes



Starting today, Sunday, April 21, York Region Transit buses are resuming service through the Canada’s Wonderland terminal.

Starting opening day, Sunday, May 5, GO Transit and the TTC start their regular seasonal services to Wonderland. That same day, York Region Transit also resumes express bus service service linking Wonderland to Vaughan Mills, Richmond Hill Centre Terminal and Finch GO Bus Terminal, starting Sunday, May 6.

MiWay starts its usual express service between the Mississauga City Centre terminal and Wonderland, Saturday, May 18. Brampton Transit did not operate express bus service last year and has not announced service this year.

Transit Toronto will update the information in this post in June to detail service in July and August.

Also, starting Saturday, June 29, GO plans to operate trains along the 65 Barrie line weekends this summer and will operate shuttle buses to carry train passengers between Wonderland and Rutherford GO Station.


Brampton Transit

Again this year BT is not operating buses along the 66 Wonderland express route between the Bramalea Terminal and Wonderland again this year. Board buses operating along the 501 Züm Queen route to Jane Street, then transfer to YRT buses operating along the 20 Jane - Concord route to reach Wonderland.


GO Transit

60 Canada’s Wonderland

Starting Sunday, May 5, southbound buses leave Wonderland Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and operate along Highways 400 and 401 without stopping until they arrive at Yorkdale GO Bus Terminal twenty minutes after they leave Wonderland. They then continue without stopping along Highway 401 and Yonge Street to York Mills GO Bus Terminal, ending their trips 30 minutes after they leave Wonderland.

Northbound buses leave York Mills GO Bus Terminal Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and operate along Yonge Street and Highway 401 without stopping until they arrive at Yorkdale GO Bus Terminal ten minutes after they leave York Mills. They then continue without stopping along Highways 401 and 400 to Wonderland, ending their trips 30 minutes after they leave York Mills.

Starting Thursday, May 16, GO operates the buses seven days a week.

MiWay

MiWay resumes its 88 Wonderland Saturday, May 18. Buses operate Saturdays, Sundays and holidays only until July, when they start operating seven days a week.

Southbound buses leave Wonderland terminal at 10 and 11:30 a.m. and 1, 2:30, 8:45, 10 and 10:15 p.m. Northbound buses leave City Centre terminal at 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. and 12:15, 1:45, 8 and 9:30 p.m.

Sundays, May 19 and June 16, 23 and 30

Southbound buses leave Wonderland terminal at 10 and 11:30 a.m. and 1, 2:30, 6:45, 8:15 and 8:20 p.m. Northbound buses leave the City Centre at 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. and 12:15, 1:45, 6 and 7:30 p.m.

Sundays, May 26 and June 2 and 9

Southbound buses leave Wonderland terminal at 10 and 11:30 a.m. and 1, 2:30, 6:45 and 8:15 p.m. Northbound buses leave the City Centre at 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. and 12:15, 1:45, 6 and 7:30 p.m.

Victoria Day, Monday, May 20

Southbound buses leave Wonderland terminal at 10 and 11:30 a.m. and 1, 2:30, 6:45, 8:15 and 10:15 p.m. Northbound buses leave the City Centre at 9:15 and 10:45 a.m. and 12:15, 1:45, 6 and 7:30 p.m.


TTC

165 Weston Rd North

The TTC is resuming service to and from Wonderland Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from about 9 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Starting Sunday, May 12, it operates one more bus along the entire route to provide the service to and from the park. It hasn’t yet posted its schedule for the service, but, in 2012, buses dropped off and picked up passengers every 36 minutes Sunday-and-holiday mornings and every 42 minutes Sunday-and-holiday afternoons and evenings.

Starting Saturday, May 18, it operates one more bus along the entire route to provide service to and from the park. In 2012, buses served each stop every 24 minutes Saturdays.

South- and eastbound buses operating along the 165A Weston Rd North branch start their trips at the Wonderland Terminal, then proceed:

north- and eastward along the Wonderland Access Road;
southward along Jane Street; and then
westward along Major Mackenzie Drive West to the off-street loop west of Highway 400,
resuming the regular 165D route westward along Major Mackenzie West.

West- and northbound buses reverse this routing.

Buses operate from 9:35 a.m. until 11 p.m. Saturdays and from 9:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sundays and holidays.


York Region Transit

20 Jane - Concord

Starting Sunday, April 21 buses in both directions again operate into Canada’s Wonderland. Buses drop off and pick up passengers every 43 minutes Sundays and holidays.

Starting Monday, April 22, buses drop off and pick up passengers about every 20 minutes Mondays to Fridays during rush hours, every 34 minutes from about 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., every 20 minutes early evenings before 9 .m. and every 31 minutes after 9 p.m.

Starting Saturday April 27, buses drop off or pick up passengers every 29 minutes before about noon Saturdays, every 30 minutes from about noon until 7 p.m. and every 29 minutes after 7 p.m.

760 Vaughan Mills / Wonderland

Starting Sunday, May 5, YRT resumes service along the route, linking Canada’s Wonderland with the Vaughan Mills, Richmond Hill Centre and Finch Terminals.

Buses operate every hour Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The first southbound bus leaves Canada’s Wonderland at 10 a.m. The last bus leaves Wonderland at 10 p.m.

The first northbound bus leaves Finch GO Bus Terminal at 9 a.m. The last bus leaves Finch at 9 p.m.

Southbound buses start their trips in the Wonderland Terminal, then proceed:

north- and eastward along the Wonderland access road;
southward along Jane Street;
westward along the Vaughan Mills access road into Vaughan Mills Terminal;
eastward along the Vaughan Mills access road;
southward along Jane;
eastward along Highway 7 West and East;
northward along Garden Avenue;
northward into Richmond Hill Centre Terminal, then continuing;
westward along Garden Avenue;
southward along Yonge Street; and then
eastward into Finch GO Bus Terminal,
ending their trips.

Southbound buses pick up passengers at Wonderland and Vaughan Mills Terminals, but serve no other stops until Richmond Hill Centre Terminal. South of Richmond Hill Centre, the buses serve all local YRT stops along Yonge Street until Finch GO Bus Terminal.

Northbound buses reverse the routing.

Northbound buses serve local YRT stops until Richmond Hill Centre Terminal, then operate express to Wonderland, stopping only at Vaughan Mills.
